And that, boys and girls, is why toys that followed like Barbie and GI Joe became so successful – because they relied upon imagination instead of dexterity (like tops, yo-yos, hula hoops and marbles).

I hope Wiley lets us see Danae returning it to her grandma, and her reaction.

Us guys used to use them to lasso the girls. Also the throw and backspin catch game. We never were good at the hula part.

That’s pretty much how it worked for me.

I remember seeing another hula hoop comic a while ago where the person, in a similar situation, trying to demonstrate it was too fat for it, and all it did was hang around their waist. Stuck. I have a feeling that a similar situation is about to happen.

I think this is first time I’ve seen the teacher smile when it comes to Danae. Then came the reality of the Danae.

OK Teach – go ahead and show ’em a thing or two……

I predict a substitue teacher tomorrow when this one puts out her back trying to demonstrate how to use a hula hoop.

Will teacher still be able to do it? I don’t think I really ever tried that, but the basic movement is . . . . easy.

I tried it a few times…always got a foomp.

I foresee a great sale of Hula Hoops in the near future. Maybe even an I-Hoop.

Awww! come on people…I’m in my late 40’s and I remember all sorts of fun toys….“Jarts” basically a poite prjectile that you throw and try to make it land in a hoop. Riding a two wheel bike …without a helmet….and yes the Hula Hoop also.

It might help if there were a website that Danae could go to so that she could DTFM*.
