Oh, there are way too many Pennys who give expired stuff to our food bank. And we have to throw it all out if it’s past its expiry date. Don’t EVEN get me started!

Good Morning!Great to see Leaky back on top!

Leaky, I have had SUCH a hard time keeping Marg in line without your help.Ask anybody here!

Meanwhile… yes….They’re the ones who give the jar of antipasto they’ve been afraid to try for 17 years…

The maraschino cherries that faded to pale pink….

The can of snake meat Jerry bought them in at the Grand Canyon…

The seam-dented can of creamed corn that might have a little bulge on top….“But I’m not sure, Burl…. what do you think?”

Cos if people are hungry they should eat what we give them…. right?

There’s that tin of WW2 mutton out in the garage. They could give that.

Susan, you** know** what a reprobate she is. Family reunions are an absolute nightmare when she shows up drunk (which is always)She started a food fight and threw an empty pint bottle of whiskey from her purse. Cussing like a sailor It was not pleasant.

The saying, “Beggers can’t be choosers” was coined by the Pennys.

So far not one can in the box yet, wonder how long they have been working on this task by Verl’s question.

We know, but to the Penny’s surprise, anything you put in the box is replaceable on the next trip to Crust Foods.

Unfortunately, there really is not a lot of cans to pick from in their pantry, they eat as fast as food comes into the house.

This time I did manage to put out some boxes of whole wheat pasta and other things that I can’t have on my diet. Since I cook so much from scratch, there are not that many non perisables they would want in my pantry (not the dry legumes or many kinds of flour). I always found it strange to put stuff out at the mailboxes in 100F temperatures.

I volunteered at a couple of food distribution sites. You wouldn’t believe the stuff that people donate. Leaky, bulging cans, out of date you-name-it, exotic “food”, packages so dusty we couldnt make out what they were……and they really thought someone would want it?

Leaky, Marg has been a model of decorum while you were in J…er…away. Thats my story and I’m sticking to it.

Really, Leaky…. I know what you must go through…

(And I think so does 2Old…she’s just not telling. Cos we all like poor, dear Marg, so when she disappears….we usually just say she’s…. you know… away for a while.)
