Hi, Im Horace I went through a blue period not long ago,
Hi horace!
welcome!
I used gouache and watercolor together...it was a mess.
But Im clean now.
@Radish, being a horse especially he should be eating green. I really have no problem combining some watercolor with my gouache, especially in the metallic range.
Maybe origin of Horace isn’t a pencil doodle. ?Isn’t the Alex Ross stuff in gouache? I assumed he was computer generated. Zoom 400X shows mane hairs have more curve than mouse drawn can do.
FYI: Gouache paint is similar to watercolor but modified to make it opaque. A binding agent, usually gum arabic, is present, just as in watercolor. Gouache differs from watercolor in that the particles are larger, the ratio of pigment to water is much higher, and an additional, inert, white pigment such as chalk is also present. ( Obvoiusly, I had to google it ! )
