Her mind is floating in the clouds, pumped full of the light, dreamy air emanating from her ecstatic heart…..

I see that Luann, though getting older, is still seeing her relationships as more of the desire to be with someone in a romantic way, and not just the goal of getting to know someone better…

Notice that he has held discussions with Gunther about their rooming together, before he even got around to talking to Luann about his coming back to the USA. Does that reflect Quill’s priorities? Just sayin’.

Oh YEAH, by ALL Means, Mr. Perfect SHOULD Stay with Gunther. At Least Gunther Lets Pretty Boy FINISH a Sentence.

I think Luann’s not getting the picture here. Sure she and Quill and lovesick for each other, but he’s not THAT lovesick for her.

Quill, go back to Australia and finish your schooling there. The quality of the schools there are far superior to the ones in the USA.

And the purple drinks are back.

Quill is mature, he wants to woo Luann and probably marry her when she matures. She is so romantic, and wants him near her at tall times, not being realistic. She should wait to college, like most of the rest of us do.

Both Luann and Rosa may have ample reason to be jealous of this bromance – especially if it moves beyond that.

Quill is the leveled headed one in this relatinship..get your head out of the clouds Luann…

OK, Luann, lets explore what happens if we do it your way. Your parents completely reject the idea, leaving him with no place planned to stay. Not that it matters, because he has completely failed to convince his parents that it is a good idea. Do you still prefer this to a little bit of practical thinking?

Come back, Luann! Come back to Planet Earth! Your Dad and Mom have already nixed this idea, even before Quill started talking about coming back to the US for more schooling and Luann-ish drooling. Batting your eyes will not change anyone’s mind; if anything, it will convince them even more that you are not mature enough to handle constant propinquity.

gotta love teenage hormones…but, then again he knows he wants to do at 16. many teens don’t even have a purpose at 16. sometimes, i wonder if we should bring back the draft(or some form of national service ie forestry, healthcare, police, etc…) just so teens can figure out what they want to do with their lives. because, let’s face it, college degree, especially a bachelor’s is not the golden ticket that our parents think it is.

They were more friends for a long time before Quill went back to Australia. I don’t know about the quality of Australian schools but they certainly can not be worse than ours. I’m almost agreed that he needs to stay in Australia.

Well, as “Seismic” and others have pointed out, he could perhaps pursue his craft there, so you may be right that this could point to some infatuation from him, as well! ==But I guess no one is pointing fingers at Quill as much, only because it seems that he’s at least trying to reason on if there’s a solid basis for trying to go through with such an idea (both for the feasibility and the financial viability of it, as the basis for making a case to his parents, while Lu seems only to be concerned with how it affects her feelings and her “dreamy” desires to “have him close to her”, and not giving any consideration to any of the logistics involved, nor how either of their future plans beyond school would be affected (or also effected), here…..

Uh – Luann – Go for the idea that Quill will stay with Gunther – to get Quill over here. First things first. There would be plenty of time to scheme later.

Considering she paid for Quill’s going away party with MasterDad and ignores the fact her parents made it clear that they don’t want Quill staying in the same house, I have to agree.Which makes me hope that Quill’s parents so no especially since if they say yes it’ll mean the going away party Luann’s father paid for was for nothing.

Hard to imagine that a guy like Gunther has no life in his home country, especially when that country is one of the most physically fit and economically sound in the world.

I like that Quill is resourceful, and pragmatic. He has thought it through, and knows Luann’s parents wouldn’t appreciate having him there. I like Quill more and more. I just wish he didn’t want to be an actor. That isn’t a good profession anymore.

I have to love the irony in Quill staying at Gunther’s house. At one time or another, both are/have been competing for Luann’s attention, if not affection. If one is an ardent Gunth/Lu shipper, perhaps this “bromance” may result in the vehicle needed for Gunth eventually to make his move on Lu, and Q facilitating that, while exiting gracefully. Rosa would then, simply, be off to study at the Ivy league or Europe, as previously mentioned.

I think MPQ SHOULD live with the Degroots… eventually, Luann will realise what a huge bore he is, and dump him all the way back to the land of kangaroos and backwards spinning toilets

I agree, stay in Australia, finish school then maybe go to University in the States. Luann is being imature and just plain silly, needs to grow up a little. Besides there is the old saying, “familiarity breeds contempt.”

Perhaps Quill is mature and wanted to get his ducks in a row before he paraded them to Luann. Give Luann the benefit of doubt, she was obviously kidding in the last panel. Although she likes the idea of him staying at her house, she is fully aware that such a thing is not likely to transpire.

Luann is silly to think of putting him in her house. what next—her bed?

With quill here in the USA, a great arc would be Luann’s challenges as Quill grows away from her and say, starts dating another. She might then confide in the G man, Qs roomie, that should be fun. Then when rosa leaves for college in Europe, L and G go to college together and the possibility continues for these two to find their destiny together, as has been suggested.

Lets see: we have yet to see frames of sexuality returned to any female, by quinn. it’s obvious luann would jump his bones if he gave her the chance. even the dingbat couldn’t get a rise out of him. quinn has made arrangements to live with gunther. the bookworm and the goth aren’t hooking up, so….hmmmm…..who’da thunk it?

She doesn’t seem to get the definition of ‘awkward’…as in for her parents, for Quill, and for the future girlfriend Quill will have if Luann doesn’t stop behaving like an Apache helicopter. Best that he stay with Gunth.

Convinced of her own skin deep appeal. Remind me again how Luann and Tiffany differ. Oh, right, Luann has that boomerang.

Somehow, I don’t see this ending happily ever after. Might Quill be scared off by Luann’s boy-craziness?

For crying out loud, Luann is just trying to be funny. Nothing more to read into that. Staying with Gunther is just a safe, convinient situation. Bromance?? Where do some of you come from that you have to project silly ideas into a strip? We already have enough people here trying to project their sexual fantasies into this.

If I could say something to Luann, it would be, “Please do not be a slut like tiffany is. You are better than that. So act like the lady I know you are.”

It might be that Luann is being so ditzy and emotional BECAUSE Quill is so stable and logical. Think of it as his stability giving her permission to be a ditz, where she would not be able to otherwise.

Luann spent too much time trying to be pragmatic when Quill was there. She deprived them both of the romance they wanted. Now she is trying to make up for lost time by throwing all practicality out the window.

Compare what Luann says here with what Crystal said yesterday.

In the final panel, Luann exhibits the true “inner beauty” that Quill said he finds so attractive about her. Of course, this is the sort of “inner beauty” that one would expect of the song-writer of “I’m a Snot”. And Tiffany is the character that people here claim is egotistical?

Hope Quill is mature enough for the both of them. LuAnn really misses the boat in that regard.

I have yet to see Luann say one word about marriage to Quill. She is a teen in love with love. Teens don’t (unfortunately) always think beyong the immediate present.

Actually a bromance could be a good arc if Evans milks the humor in it and now we will get to see Gun’s mom.^^Actually Donny, Gunther’s Mom has been featured in the strip at least twice (probably more like 4 times)

Quills being smart asking Gunther first, Luann is acting like a lovesick teenager, in otherwords like a teen.

Makes one wonder why Quill implies he doesn’t really have any good friends back “home”…surely there has to be at Least one girl who considers him an Australian heartthrob… Since Quill’s father is a diplomat (is their home base in Australia?) as one poster wrote (I don’t recall who), perhaps Quill never had the opportunity to make “permanent” friends because the family has moved around a lot, even in his high-school years? One wonders why Quill’s parents might be a little skeptical about Quill’s desire to remain in Pitts…except for his plans to room with Gunther. If they even had the Slightest hint that Quill’s desire is to remain with Luann and not to be with his new-found friends, they’d put an immediate stop to that. Perhaps Quill needs to be around Luann so that he can eventually grow-up and find a girl who doesn’t cling to him the way Luann does…not that I blame her…(although I’m sure other posters will!). ;)

Smart boy, Quill. Live in-state a year, get entrance into a state university as a resident at resident prices…. Don’t think it works that way anymore, but it’s worth a try.

Somewhere along the line I got the idea that he was a diplomat…something someone obvioously not in the know posted. Does make the situation Quill is in point in a different direction. I’ve only been on Go-Comics for less than a month… I read Luann everyday when we used to get a hard-copy newspaper (which we no longer do) but I don’t have the extensive historical Luann memories some posters have… I’m in here for the fun…

hummm…is it all about the hunt? Luann should be way beyond this needy , me me me…and start talking about other important things that build a relationship.

I wait with anticipation for Mr. Evans story on her and her background. She may be a deeper person than we give her credit for.^^Yeah, I’m sort of waiting for that too, would certainly be a nice change from the Quill saga that’s been running since June

Quill is more mature than Luann and can do better at this point. Will Luann ever learn that a boy is not the “be all and end all” of life?
