Okay, we got it. The kids are seniors now. Time to move on.

Life is SO unfair.

During my HS years, they used to have open campus. However, in these days, all of that has gone out of the window…..

That’s just because the level of the liquid is slanted… probably was the same level, both times…

And yet the HS drama goes on as it ever was and ever will be…….

The average high school graduate is age 18. I was 19 when I graduated. If I had a (as Luann named it) year off, I’d be 20.

And you might do this for another eleven before you graduate, Luann.

Luann is taking geometry, in the 12th grade? We all knew she was light-years away from being a scholar, but geometry is a 10th-grade course (or earlier).

And yet how old is Prince Valiant, The Phantom and others of their day and age still phumphering along? Keep reading, folks… It’s only a comic strip meant to entertain us. Maggie and Jiggs did pretty well in my day, and I ain’t dead yet !

Budget your time, Luann. Have fun and get decent grades! It can be done! Mom, it’s time to let your daughter share the coffee; she’s practically grown up now and needs it!

Perhaps she took a cup during the brewing cycle and now that the cycle has completed there is a full pot… minus the cup she has poured.

We never had an open campus when I was in HS. If we went outside, there was a chance the bears would get us.

HI all:I graduated in 1979 and I still wonder why we had to learn half the stuff we did. One class was European history. BORING. I beat my brains out to barley pass that class and after that I never thought about it again Within a month I forgot everything I learned in that class. By the time I got to that high school they did away with drivers education because of budget cuts. THAT should have never been done away with. OK that’s my 2 cents. Bye for now.

Probably the reason Luann has a text on “geography” is to find out just where Australia is. I doubt that she has ever been clear on the concept.

This has probably already been mentioned over the past couple weeks, but I truly believe that this is Luann’s last year of school. Evans probably has some other ideas, and has been encouraged by the response to the more mature Brad/Toni relationship that he will want similar story lines for Luann. Like, off to college, for example. He has so many different ways he can take these lives, think he wants to do so. There is also a gut feeling like there may be an ultimate tragedy in this strip in the future, i.e. a death. It is my biggest concern about the Brad/Toni relationship, given that both are firefighters.

Looking at the middle panel, has Luann blossomed a little?

I don’t think so. once Nancy sets the pot down, the level of the liquid should actually be lower.^No, I mean that the pot is the same, but it seems lower in the same way one would tilt something with liquid in it. One can assume that Nancy’s cup is being poured during the second panel, but this is not neccesarily so…. it could have been that Nancy was putting the pot back during the 1st panel, and during the second and third panels, it remained. It could have been that during the second panel, she was drinking, not pouring. That’s why I said that. It could be either, but this is the case made for the level actually being the same…. – BTW, I thought about Sam Cooke’s “Wonderful World (This Would Be)” and one other song that I now forgot. Any others?…

Not if you do it right, with the pot still somewhat under the spout while you pour. I’ve done it a few times. Depends on how eager you are for that coffee.

Well, that suddenly is tied together by school feeling… “wonderful”… The S.C. song came to mind, since he admitted to the girl that many of the subjects he had to study were not in his field of (ahem) expertise… but at least he knew what love was, ha ha!

At least she’s finishing high school. Of my brother’s kids, not one successfully completed high school.

You normally study analytic geometry during your junior and senior years as part of the study of functions, trigonometry, and maybe calculus. However, a textbook labeled just “Geometry” almost always refers to plane and solid geometry, which is a 9th or 10th grade course. If course it might as well be a textbook on partial differential equations, for all that Luann will get out of it.

Quill is supposed to be back in his senior year now in Australia, since the academic year resumed in August after winter break (which is when Quill attended drama camp in California). Has he dropped out of school, in the middle of his senior year? How in the world would his parents allow that?

Yes, when people in Australia name the world’s great drama schools, the first one on the list is Pitt Community College. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts is a fall-back choice for students who can’t get into Pitt.
