Hi everyone, I thought I’d find you all here on the aft deck. I love watching the wake in the moonlight. I’m exhausted, lolling around on a deck chair in the sun all day is work! I’m going to be so tan, its worth it. Susan, the buffets today are the best I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t think you could find fresh lobster out here. I’m headed off to the pool bar for a nightcap. @beviekI saw your post late and didn’t get a chance to reply. We are eagerly awaiting your arrival. I will have my ship’s pilot assist you in coming into Machala’s Puerto Bolivar. One of my crew will be happy to take you and your friends to my humble hacienda. I shall be happy to personally escort you all around and show you what our fair city has to offer.As to meeting my lady friend, who speaks no English ( or very little ) , it will all depend on her schedule. She is Technical Secretary of State to the Governor of Cuenca Province ( true story ) and commutes over an hour each way just to get to her office. Fortunately, she will be in town tomorrow because part of her job involves serious worker injuries and making sure the hospitals are doing what they’re supposed to. Wouldn’t that be something we could use in the States.That’s how we met. She was at the Opthomological Hospital checking on them, when I went for my initial exam. She did promise to hold my hand when I go for my eye operations on Oct. 7th. She laughed about my toe. ( Must have been the way I explained it in Spanish. )I will make a big bunch of empanadas and some other dishes for you. And of course some really special fruit drinks – some with and some without rum !

@Ling, I’m still managing with just drug store “cheaters” myself (and mostly use to read labels on my vitamins and to do calligraphy/illumination). I have been thinking sometimes when driving that I may need to do something eventually..Sounds like you’re having a good time with your lady friend. My X-husband really never learned much English, but my Spanish was pretty good when we were introduced. I’m planning to look for a local lover but have not decided quite how I will do so (rather complicated) mostly because I want a perfect match for the other one.

A good coleslaw CAN be a palate cleanser (and was also one of Cuddles’ FAVORITE snacks!) Certain restaurants where we ate had such good ones that she was a frequent diner (especially one Irish pub). Other places she only wanted a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Secondly, but certainly not secondary; the Landscape Committee will never approve of this obvious over reach of one of its most faithful members. Ted what were you thinking. Its not Christmas, did you really believe you would receive a wavier for above ground extension cords? The lighting is a nice touch, however clearly not necessary and a hazard to the public safety. It’s always easy to be critical and in your case what a huge target. Actually Ted, the more I think about it, the more I realize I owe you a round of applause. All those big fancy ships. I have never gone on any but the little ones on Lake Mich. (many times on the Odyssey as he even threw the wedding for one daughter there as well as her college graduation party. These 2 photos are from our first dinner cruise though. I still have the flutes. The only other boat for more than 2 was one that my brother (the lawyer) had for a short time.
