I can finally say I went to Ecuador, I have the cute little straw hat to prove it. That was the best cruise i’ve ever been on. I weighed myself on the scale in my bathroom in my adorable stateroom and I gained 16 2/3 pounds! All that french toast all that lobster and all that booze! Lets do this again next year!
I’m sure you’re all tired after the cruise but I shall be happy to treat anyone to a nightcap that wants one. I’m going top have my usual Redbreast Irish and retire. Set ’em up, Fenton.
Marvelous Matilde, my First-Mate, doesn’t speak English but she wanted me to tell you : Fue un placer conocer a todos ustedes locos gringas y gringos. Espero que todo lo que va a volver a visitar a mi país de nuevo. Pero, por favor, la próxima vez, deje que ape amorosa en casa. For you non-Spanish speakers, she said it was a pleasure to meet you and hopes you’ll come back again. ( and something about an amorous ape should be left home – don’t know what that;s about. Must be an Ecuadoran blessing. )
“OOps- should try to find a smaller online thumb (but if even paragraph code does not work, I won’t mess with width setting ;-(”+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Please, please!!!Start messing with the width settings!! There is no earthly reason to post a picture that gigantic! We’ve all posted larger than normal pictures on occasion, especially when smaller pix would not show some important details, but that flowered floating raft yesterday was HUGE to the EXTREME!!! Stop doing that! Adjusting the width works and you know how to do it! (and you know that GC has given us some problems posting pictures lately. Let’s not push our luck!)
OK, Stel. I seriously thought it might not work anyway (and to delete and re-post everything with a chance of failure) well. . . I have been using smaller settings on my Flickr photos when available, but have not with online photos. And since the last “Improvement” the < p > (without spaces) no longer gives a carriage return so I’ve gone back to using a dot to take a line. I had that photo taken by friends down there (but none on the flowered boats). I actually remember them as being even more truly flowered back in the 50s.
And I’m sure Munky was totally making a pest of himself with Ling’s lady friend, Matilde (some guys just can’t take a hint). You may never get him to stay away but perhaps you could get him to just serenade her from a distance with the proper encouragement. Best to keep her out of his sight now that he has taken a fancy THIS is what I had in mind when I did a search for MatildaTHIS is something that Munky might actually DO if you watch to the end (and I wondered why he was singing about a sausage “chorizo” and a cat “gato” but it is meant to be silly.
Love this cartoon. My Chihuahua is the same way.Ignores other dogs…..LOVES PEOPLE!!!Many a morning I am awakened just before the alarm goes off by dog breath and a wet nose in my face.Simple pleasures.
Looks like both Ling and Munky are doing fine. .My son just called and thought FB had notified him of MY B-day, but I told him today is his brother, Mike. He asked my plans and I told him that since I haven’t been in Chicago since January . . . I am going to find me someone local in the 60-80 range (and if we also decide to date too, that’s OK). Since I will never remarry and I have plenty of platonic friends locally, it is more important to find someone compatible in the important things and places. So far I have only found one (and neither of us plans to move)
The 2nd one down is missing an apostrophe right before the URL.And, actually the same apostrophe is also missing in my example above! This is the correct one:
Did you know that you wouldn’t have to make a graphic, put it online and post it, just to show code, if you use a @ touching each end of the phrase?
Just like I’m sure X did in his post …(Very funny, X ..)
It’s a shortcut for the <code></code> tags …
which you could use instead if you’d rather get in some extra typing….
But thanks for starting the image discussion…. I meant to yesterday and didn’t get to it.Disruptively huge images are one reason complaints are made to GoComics, which risks having ALL our pictures removed, or the privilege even being revoked.
Dazz … The width="n" attribute USED to work when using exclamation points to post a picture, but now it doesn’t.If you used to do it that way, that’s what you noticed. But it has NEVER stopped working in the regular img src code.
In any case, " I seriously thought it might not work anyway" is NOT enough reason to give up.
Nor is trying something once, quite possibly even containing a typo, seeing that it didn’t work, and deciding never to try it again….and telling everybody else, so they give up too!
Some of us and test and delete, test and delete, over and over till we see what really works.
@Susan, I’ll admit only to being very lazy about typing (even if it is just lots of copy-pasting) but I love to have things as nicely formatted as possible (with as little effort as possible) so I WILL save the @ to enclose code that I have tried.
I WOULD very much like to know how to center a name or greeting on a line (or at least add some leading spaces) and I would also appreciate the code for underline (as it is sometimes preferable to caps for emphasis).
Ginger, like most of the Ballard Street pet population, is essentially a friendly creature. Like the rest, she can be a tad mischievous now and then. Lick another creature. It’s a great way to really get to know your neighbors.
