Smart idea, Dad! The old classics are better. Nothing wrong with Black & White movies, as long as they come from a clean print.

Was it The Blob or The Crawling Eye? Or The Creature from the Black Lagoon? Body Snatchers……Great memories.

Of course, Norman looks just as scared as Echo, so he may not really be getting the benefit of Dad’s great idea.

Maybe Norm is scared of getting that close to Echo.

I sat in the front row with my coat ready to cover my face. All the greats. Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, Curse of the Mummy, Not to mention the Gorilla movies. Beauty and the Ape, King Kong.Much scarier than the Blob

Try ‘The Uninvited’, a pure ghost story from 1945.

Creepy in a way that they don’t do today.

I hate rollercoasters (always have) and I agree about the horror flicks but adult movies are more fun for that now.

I saw Vincent Price during one of his lecture tours and one of the stories he told was about going to see his movie “House of Wax” in the theater. He wasn’t there to see the movie, he was there to watch the crowd and since the movie was in 3-D no one could recognize him with the big glasses they wore back then. During the movie he sat behind two teenage girls and while the credits were rolling (after his character got pushed into a vat of wax for the climax) he couldn’t resist it and he leaned forward to where the two girls were clinging to each other and he asked them, “Did you enjoy the movie?”

It is just wise to remember that for every great classic B&W horror movie, there is also a “Attack of the Giant Gila Monster” or “Killer Shrews.” There have always been stinkers.
