Goat: Check this out, Rat. It's a poster made by the British government to raise morale during World War Two. Rat: Oh, yeah? I have one just like it. Goat: That's a little different. Rat: I adhere to it often.
Actually, Rat’s version is probably closer to human nature. I mean, I’d probably be cursing up a storm and running around like a chicken with its head cut off myself.
How does that saying go again? Something like… If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, then you don’t fully understand the situation.
Rat is not very creative. Some of the parody-versions are far more clever. Of course, “clever” isn’t what Rat was going for. He’s just disgustingly honest….
Those posters are starting to get old now. At first, I thought they looked quite good but now they are everywhere you look. However, Rat’s poster is something I would never tire of!xxx
Steven……here’s material for another strip: The original of this poster was “and bugger on”. Apparently, someone in the British government thought “bugger”, one of Churchill’s favorite words (especially when referring to Nazis) was too prurient for public consumption. Too bad, I think “Bugger” makes the poster more interesting, and definitely more British.

I was going to say that Rat has it down pat,but the fact is that he skips the panic part.

On the TV show Alexei Sayle’s Stuff, the British comedian made a parody of the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”; it was called “Panic.” Great stuff.

I always wondered where the “Keep Calm and …” parody posters on FaceBook on their origin.

I heard just lately on the BBC that this poster was never actually used. They had it, but didn’t use it. I don’t know if that’s true or not.

The “Carry On” films were named after the first in the series, Carry On Sergant, not after the poster.

Ah. I wondered where that stupid meme came from. We save their hides from the Germans, and THIS is the thanks we get? :-P

This was always my favorite WWII poster. Is this really what we could expect to happen if we drove alone??

Believe This, or Don’t! (preferably don’t), Rat is a distant cousin of World War II Prime Minister Winston Churchmouse!
