…HISTORY: The Democraqts and the Whigs BOTH wanted to keep slavery. Men on both parties who wanted to END slavery, became the Republican Party. The reminaing Whigs became Democrats who wanted slavery and still do in the form of an unsustainable debt. We OWE CHINA. If China calls in that debt, when our money is worthless….all we can give China in payment is OUR LAND and our children who owe the debt.

Negotiating? Negotiating implies compromise and a final agreement.

By cooperate you mean do what he tells them to do?

Last I checked the House passed bill after bill after bill to open the government to shorten the pain, but the other side ignored them.

There is no way that one person, or even one house could shut everything down all by themselves, unless someone gave them that kind of power.

When the senate and prez refused to negotiate they gave that power to the house. They said we don’t want the power to keep the government open, we want to hand it all to you.

Thus the shutdown occured, the senate could have stopped it at any time, the house could have stopped it at any time. The president could have gotten involved…

but atlas, here we are now, the senate is busy trying to pass special rights bills, invasion of privacy bills and has already forgotten it should be doing NOTHING but working on a budget with the house, and until they can agree on something they should not be doing anything else.

If they want a CR to continue they need to reduce funding back to the last approved budget that was passed then go from there.

Wouldn’t your argument be better (less worth ignoring) if you use specifics for your arguments and skip the name calling? As it is, anyone who disagrees with you will just shrug and think less of you.

If conservatives = Republicans, you do realize that includes Abraham Lincoln, right? Please tell me I don’t have to explain Lincoln to you.

“Actually it was the lousy morons arguing and refusing to cooperate with the president for the better of America.”-Sometimes disagreement is a good thing because sometimes we are all wrong. If I agree with whatever you say even when I think you are wrong, I am not needed and we should just put all power in your hands.Having done so, all the power would also be in the hands of whoever replaced you and SOME presidents do not have godlike powers of reason and goodness, or if do, it is more like the god Loki.-I love our president but believe it is possible for him to be wrong (theoretically, that is).
