The seats in my cars didn’t recline. They didn’t have to, they were bench seats. No seat belts jabbing you in the back, No gear shift to crawl over. Even at that you sat in the back seat at the drive-in movies to avoid the steering wheel and pedals. There is nothing more embarrassing that stepping on the brake pedal in a steamy car.

- We hit 80 degree F last week, now we are into the low 30’s.-I used to tell folks when I was growing up in Pittsburgh that I couldn’t take the cold winters, so I was moving to Florida. Well, I did. Today, the temp in Orlando is 32 degrees, but with the wind chill (who gets wind chill in Florida!), it actually feels like 22 degrees. I’m seriously thinking of learning Spanish so when I retire I can move to Costa Rica….

-if it is below 0 in the water closet, that seat is going to be the second most miserable thing in the house…-LOL! I’m fairly certain Jay meant ‘wind chill’, but your interpretation cheers me up a lot, while I’m freezing in Central Florida (!) Who wudda thunk?

Putting weather reports aside, I would be interested in seeing the results of a hypothetical reader’s poll which poses the question: If things get really steamy between Quill & Luann, will the concept of “let’s wait until we’re married come up?” Then, of the % answering “yes,” the next question would be: Who will say it— a) Luann, b) Quill, c) both?

I try to refrain from making predictions, as they are usually wrong. But, I will bet (without wagering any money) that, in the next few day’s installments, there will be some significant physical contact, although not as climactic as many readers hope. We shall see what happens…If it makes any difference, the temperature here in Minneapolis is listed as -2 F.

Gunther is overly shy and Quill is obviously trying to be careful about involvement when he can’t be sure where he will be in future.-Both, in their own ways, are trying to be responsible. Or maybe Quill isn’t so much interested in a physical relationship as in an emotional one, as we saw when they were together in her room and Quill just wanted to talk. After all, we have been told over and over that Quill is attracted to Luann’s “inner beauty” (it will be left as an exercise to the reader to identify just what that is, but no matter), rather than her physical appearance. -Also, Quill seems to be focused on pursuing his career ambitions (as opposed to Luann, who admits she doesn’t have any goals yet). Quill may therefore be much more interested in what Mrs. Manezone has to offer him on stage than in what Luann has to offer him in the car.

The answer to the second question is “b”.

Lu is still “under age” in Calif. and Quill is not. Of course he’s not going to say yes, if he wants to stay out of prison.

I’d be interested in seeing which answer it is after Lu turns 18. If Quill still wants to wait thereafter, then that would be saying something.

Yes, I see the possibility of Quill trying to impress Luann by acting like he is being the ultimate gentleman who has the utmost respect for a young woman’s virginity, realizing that such a strategy will arouse her passions.

Also, when the concept of “let’s wait until we’re married” comes up, it implies that the relationship is destined to be “forever until the end of time.”We will all have to see what happens, but I suspect that Quill might think his approach is more effective than acting like a desperate, sex-starved, teenage caveman!

Obviously, this current storyline has a multitude of possibilities, but I have other reading and writing to do, so I will just sum up my theories. 1) Things will get “steamy” between Quill & Luann, but it will not progress beyond a certain point. 2) There will be discussion regarding the future of the relationship, regardless of whether my previously mentioned, “let’s wait until we’re married” line comes up. 3) It is pure conjecture on my part, but if Quill and Gunther are still sharing the same room, there may be talk between them where they compare their amount of experience with the opposite sex.

I went outside wearing a tee with a pullover sweater to test the Sacramento, California weather and would have been more comfortable in a light jacket.

California has had an extremely dry year so Dodge Ridge hasn’t opened for skiing and snowboarding yet, but there is enough snow to play in at Pinecrest, Elevation: 5,679 ft, per the forest service.

Definitely Luann doesn’t live in Pinecrest, California.

-Since I’m in Florida, I can’t speak to California laws. But I am aware of Florida’s situation. It remains illegal to have sex, consensual or otherwise, with a minor in Florida. However, the state will no longer automatically list the older teen on the sexual offender list if the age difference is 4 years or less. I’m not sure that applies for same sex couples. There was a case recently where a high school senior was imprisoned for her relationship with a freshman girl; I think she may have been removed from the list after she served a short sentence but I’m not sure. Age of consent remains, obviously, an important issue in many states….

“I heard Phoenix has had more precipitation…” Yes, and in the Spring the desert will burst out with flowers on the trees and cacti the likes that haven’t been seen for years. Nothing like seeing yellow flowering palo verdes for miles and miles north of Tucson…and then looking down towards the ground and seeing all sorts of cacti blooming! And then there’s the saguaros in bloom later on. Just breathtaking! However, there is one downside of all that rain: the cacti get waterlogged… ;)

I happened to be in Tucson when the temp hit 117 degrees…it was Hotter in Phoenix (as it always is), and they had to send all of their jet arrivals to the Tucson airport… =:-O
