It is still astonishing to me that the Republicans/Fox “news” viewers on these boards see no problem with the current and growing amount of wealth inequality.

to braindead08because that’s what they’re told by fox news; fox news also says don’t go anywhere else for information, we’ll tell you what you need to know, and they don’t.

Very sad, and I fear, an irreversible trend? Has the 1% finally achieved enough power and political control that they’ve reached the tipping point? Democratic revolution may have been possible at one point in time: I suspect it would be a pointless exercise in this age. I’m not a pessimist by nature, but I’m not feeling very optimistic these days.

In other countries, after years of oppression and financial inequality, the poor rose up in rebellion. Not that it did them much good. One set of greedy #$%X&$ was replaced by another and the rest remained the same. All that changed was political ideology.

    Current events?

“Care for us! True, indeed! They ne’er cared for usyet: suffer us to famish, and their store-housescrammed with grain; make edicts for usury, tosupport usurers; repeal daily any wholesome actestablished against the rich, and provide morepiercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrainthe poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; andthere’s all the love they bear us.”

Nope, Shakespeare’s “Coriolanus”, but pretty much the state of affairs throughout the ages.

All we have to do is give the rich even MORE money, and it will start trickling down to the rest of us. One of these days.

I think the minimum wage should be $50.00 an hour. That sounds fair. The government should provide automobiles and the insurance. They provide phones and housing, why not cars? There should be guarantees for life. Screw the rich SOBs. They don’t work. As for me, I vote for a living.
