“Big muddy thing to muddy spot over there. Your move.”As we anxiously wait for Casperov’s response coming up next up on the Wide World of Sports….Olympic Muddy Ski Jumping live from Armpitts, Austria then later Naked Nascar Racing from somewhere in Texas.
Back in my old Army days I was trained as a 63F20 prior to going to Nam. This is called Recovery and Evacuation Specialist in other words a Wrecker driver. The training was at Aberdeen MD. Our nick name was the Mud Ducks. We learned to recover vehicles from simulated battlefield conditions. One of the final tests was recovery of a old M48 tank in a deep mud pit. It was up to the turret. The connections are on the front and rear under the mud. SO to get to the towing attachments under the mud we went. Uniform and all. It was thick tannish color and dried like concrete if they did not hose you off. We would come up after hooking up looking just like these two. That is where I met my love of the Army. Ms. M88 Medium Recovery Tank. 1790 cubic inches, V12, Air cooled, twin superchargers, 1300 horsepower, prettiest lady in the field. 58 Tons of fun. Spent my last two years in Army being her boyfriend. Never threw a track and never broke down.
