My sentiments exactly. Even a man ought to be able to operate such a complicated piece of machinery. Although we do have a friend – I’d say elderly, but it just dawned on me that he’s probably my age! – who can’t comprehend a microwave.
Around our house, everybody does their own laundry. That means men and women alike. There is one exception, that being my Grandparents. My Grandmother is so possessive over the laundry that she rarely lets my Grandfather participate even to help her carry the clothes. Thus, he’s never learned to do it himself. When she was sick recently, I had to help him do the laundry because he didn’t know how (and, being 93, he’s not really able to figure a lot of things out on his own anymore).
They look like what the younger generation wears now.Along with leaving tags and stickers on their ball caps and wearing their caps backwards and all angles, with stiff straight brims…They thing that’s cool.
I insist on doing the whole houses laundry, had problems with people over loading the washer in the past and breaking it. As a result I do it all myself, then my wife was complaining to her mother about how she doesn’t like how I do laundry.
Her mother looked her in the eyes and said “Your complaining about how he does laundry? I don’t think your father has EVER done laundry in 40 years of being married…consider yourself lucky.”
Many long years ago, men figured out how to get out of doing laundry; mixing colors, putting in too much bleach, dropping them on the floor when taking them out of the washer The list goes on and on.
You may think it’s sad that Earl doesn’t do his own laundry..I’ve got that beat..I was over at my brother-in-laws house one day.(my sister was out shopping.) I was watching TV when I heard him say from the kitchen..“Hey Mike..how do you make a tunafish sandwich?”..shaking my head..
