This must be shades of that classic movie: ‘Swiss Family Farrell’…. A famous line from this little known sequel: “Will somebody check the curtain, this time!? Fool me once, shame on you.. Fool me twice… then, it’s still all your fault!” – (Kids: ) “Yaaay!!! We’re clapping because it’s over! …”

What is this? Since when do we cut storylines on Friday? I think Greg could have written two more days of Luann complaining.

She’s practicing for her Oscar acceptance speech, by thanking all the “little people” who made it possible. At least we won’t be subjected to a whole week of remembering that everything about it was terrible and totally ineffective, as we did with Fogarty’s departure.

Maybe Luann can drag out reading Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax for two hours. Maybe the kids will even listen to her read for all that time. But I think they’ve bonded better with Tiffany and appreciate her cutting short their last day….

Luann isn’t totally selfless, isn’t totally selfish.Either would be boring. She isn’t boring to most..Quill knows how to distract her with big couches and shiny objects. Her advice to Tiffany is good advice even if they aren’t best friends yet.

I don’t get it. Why is Tiffany saying goodbye two hours before quitting time? Where is she going? We know she isn’t leaving town. Oh, maybe she is going to be Quill’s assistant.

" If she really wanted to quit, she would have done so already."^I was saying that she was looking forward to being done , not quitting. Having worked in the school system, we all looked forward to ( and counted down to) the last school day. In that same way, she is also ready to go… She’s looking forward to the “relief”… it’s human …..

And , is looking for the summer break (which is what we all did, teacher or student)… – Or did you forget that they’d be done for the year there and wrapping up (at the Elementary School/ Kidz 1st), and so Lu and Tiff would be free from there for the summer?

I don’t like “Zits.” Besides the disrespectful way Jeremy Duncan treats his parents, there is the way that women and teen girls are stereotyped.

“..she wouldn’t be staring at the clock counting down the minutes. If she didn’t want to be there, she’d walk out the door.”^That’s not true. you can work at a place (whether paid or not) and still count down the clock when it’s your time to get off, or when you get to go on vacation. This isn’t an issue about “not wanting to work there”. This is an issue of a teen who’s looking forward to summer. Teachers (and several other jobs, such as some stadium jobs) get to have a time off for a period, and believe me, when you get to have a break, you take it ! You can love your job, and still look forward to being done for the day, or even the end of the week (or the season, if your job is seasonal)! Or else, why the phrase “TGIF”?…

In this strip, school is coming to a close and so it is for the schools where I live. Today is the last day of school and we have high school graduations abounding, especially my cousin’s. He’ll walk the stage tomorrow morning and receive his diploma.

Look, I appreciate Tiffany, myself- but every comment someone makes about her is not always for the purpose of disparaging her. Saying that she’s looking forward to being off for the summer is not some “indictment” of her work ethic, or anything else. It could be Luann, Mickey Mouise, or anybody else! Tiffany is saying goodbye for the summer, and Greg is putting everyone on track for “summer plans”!

It’s true that the strip centers on Jeremy, but it’s sort of the same way people see a lot of shows like “iCarly” and a few others. Shows that are funny. Shows featuring nice kids. Smart kids… but sometimes a little too smart alecky … and the adults are made to be a little bit too buffoonish…
