Victoria: ? ! Um... Danae? Does your father know your horse stays on the bed with you? Danae: Of course. Why not? Jealous? Victoria: Insanely! Mind if I hang out here for a while?
pearlandpeach reminded me…
Lucy has two legs in the rear, and forelegs up front.
That makes six legs.
Six legs are truly an odd number of legs for a horse to have.
The only thing that can be both an even number and an odd number is infinity.
Therefore, Lucy has an infinite number of legs.
And four hands.
(where’s my coffee?)
Wiley you are great!
I have met Victoria’s kind before, they ingratiate themselves till you are hooked then try to take over.
Having said that, it gives the storyline great foreboding.
My thought is that Victoria is just the kind of crazy fun person who will fit in fine. She’s probably been lonely and has finally found a man and kids that she can relate to.
HowieL nailed it!
A mathematical proof a la Non Sequitur. More elegant than a direct proof, yet more disturbing than proof-by-contradiction. Non Sequitur should be added to the math curriculum taught today.
I am not sure about Victoria. She could be foe and not friend to Danae. Lucy might be sent to a …”gasp!” stable. I hope they all live happily ever after. We’ll have to wait and see.
On the other hand, as Abe Lincoln once asked, “How many legs does a horse have if you call its tail a leg?
“Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it one.”
I still only see four legs (and no hands) on Lucy, even if she does have four legs on the bottom, two on each side, two in back, two in front, and one on each corner–sixteen so far, if anyone’s counting…
Panel 1 reminds me of Mz Clinton. Panel 4 seems more angular than when in the bar talking to Joe and asking questions. The artwork seems to also make her look less youthful.
I was wondering when Victoria was going to get around to the Lucy situation. My fear has been that she will try to banish her outside. If she does, Danae will stay outside with her…..until she gets cold, then she’ll go back in because she is all about her own comfort. Lucy will call her on it & she’ll say she doesn’t have the means a horse has to endure life outside. Lucy will forgive her; she always does.
I happen to like Victoria very much and think she is a great addition to the strip.
Notice folks, Victoria says “on the bed” NOT “in the room”. Wiley strikes me as very careful about how he uses the language.
Lastly, in case someone is actually taking the “hands” thing seriously, “four hands” refers to the house’s height at the shoulder, not the number of appendages. :-)
Wiley-Oh, I think I got Victoria perfectly. I think she’s going to make for some nice conflict because I think Danae and her will grow to love eachother deeply, but she’s always going to keep Danae on her toes.

Let’s just hope Victoria doesn’t start channeling Catherine the Great and Sappho simultaneously.

Wow, you guys are all over the map about Victoria! That’s a good thing, I suppose.

Is it just me, or has Victoria been drawn a little more angular? She used to be softer, more curved. Love the development though!
lewisbower almost 15 years ago
I can see no good in Victoria. She will want to rule the roost.
Digital Frog almost 15 years ago
She will always be Victoria-us

Yes the variety of opinions on her is really interesting. Like some others, I thought her features looked more angular today ;-)
kfaatz925 almost 15 years ago
I’ll add my opinion to the mix (uninteresting though it is ;) ) - I like Victoria. I think she’ll be a great addition to the family.

LuvH8, I understand. Once it’s in your head there’s no way to get rid of it.
Victoria is fascinating. What is her real nature? Yes, indeed this story arc will be a fun ride.

Actually, a ‘hand’ (4 inches) is a height measurement of a horse (not a house ) taken at the withers, not at the shoulder.
Trebor39 almost 15 years ago
Victoria’s looking older and I have a horse’s head in my bed. What’s wrong with that? And LuvH8, I don’t think I’d like Doctor Toon on my cereal.

Don’t care where Wiley is taking us with Victoria - I’m just enjoying the journey!
I so would have loved a step-mother like Victoria…
lindz.coop Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I too noticed that Victoria looks suddenly older and more harsh – is that a reaction to dealing with Danae – and so quickly!!?
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
whitecaraboo, Thank you for your understanding, we must have cross posted and yes it is going to be a fun ride. I can’t wait to see what happens.
