How do a nurse and a police officer get off every Thanksgiving (or all holidays for that matter)? Those are two 24/7/365 jobs (unless you are in administration, which neither character is.) I think what would be fun to have one of them work next year!
You’re wrong about no one ever getting shot, a few years ago there was a series in the comics where Joe was criticized for not wearing his vest so he decided to wear it just to shut people up and ended up getting shot in the chest during a traffic stop. For several comics afterward he was so paraniod he started wearing the vest everywhere.
Joe was shot twice, actually. You know about the vest story arc,but he was also shot after a mysterious homeless person gave him a medallion. It stopped the bullet, saving Joe’s life. He was so grateful,he tried to find the man to thank him,but couldn’t find him. Speculation:the man (and his family) were angels. Sorry for the spoiler, but it’s a great holiday(ish) story.
Marcia is going to boot Joe for him declaring their house next year.Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We smoked our turkey in a smoker tasted great. Wished was fresher we smoked it yesterday been better and moist.
“There are realistic elements, but the characters live in an ideal world where everything works out for the best for them.”.Not ideal, just rewarded for good behavoir. They constantly deal with sick people, criminals, homeless people. .One of the points is that they still treat the other people as people, not perps or vics or nuts. .They are portrayed as being happy with the life they are creating for themselves and those around them. There is no good reason to not portray this possibility when so many others have their hearts set on portraying only hopelessness..“Friends and family a-plenty, all of them loving and successful and well off. No single parents, no jailbirds, no struggling, everything is hunky-dory all the time.”.Just open your eyes..They are friendly, so yes, they have friends. They are loving, so yes, they are loved. They apply themselves, so yes, they are successful and relatively well off. Note that some of the brothers who are not as rich as others remain angry at the one who is for not wasting his money. The biggest brother teaches kindergarten and loves and is loved by kids. They are well trained and picky, so single parentage is much less likely.Joe even teaches lessons in fire safety..They obey laws, so are not in jail. WHODATHUNK?.They have struggles, but do not let them overwhelm them..There’s nothing wrong with showing a better life rather than a worse one.If you want failure, look elsewhere. You will usually find it in people who did not do as they set the example here.
[furry-faced grin] Wonderful comic Robb!!! Very real!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++All I know is that my wife and I were in place of Marci and Joe today…. I would be getting a whole helluva lot of grief from my wife for that last line. :)

I just read the description of this strip and it mentions a texting dog. What happened to the dog? Did it get impounded for sexting?
