Ya spent a lot more on gas this week, Marcy. How come?
Charlene says that a full tank is better for a cars engine.
SO, instead of spending ten bucks, I paid for a full tank!
The cashier passed out. Good thing I know CPR.
All of the traffic pile ups I have seen on TV this week reminds me to always have AT least 1/2 tank (plus some food, water, blankets and a cell phone, with car charger).
Then there was the night I had to fill up a 28 gallon Astro tank that was sucking fumes. Temp was 8 degrees. Still remember. Friends asked why not throw a few gallons in and fill up the next day? Why go back out in 20 degrees to fill up. Easier to get it over with.
“Well, only idiots work more than 5 miles from home.”Well, I must be a sub-idiot with an IQ in the negative range, because I took a part time job with a round-trip commute of roughly 140 miles. It was the only job I could get after months of looking, and it demonstrated to future employers that I wasn’t afraid of a little driving. The job I finally got was 20 miles up the pike, but I was able to transfer around till I wound up right here in town!
Nice to know you are the judge. Some of us like to live in the country where there are no good paying jobs and have to commute to where the higher paying jobs are located. I own a large house with lots of land on a lake for less than half of the cost of 1 bedroom apartment 5 miles from work. Yes I drive 75 miles 1 way and I drive for my job so it doesn’t matter to me. So before you start throwing around who the idiots are jobs aren’t easy to come by and some of us are willing to sacrifice the drive for having the house we love where we want to live not where we are forced to live because of a job.
My commute is 45-minutes from home but, as a government employee, I take public transit most of the way that is paid for by taxpayers (like yourself). Who is the idiot?
“only idiots work more than 5 miles from home.”.All truck drivers and pilots and seamen and ….. are idiots??Some jobs can’t be so limited. Some job locations are dangerous for families. Some people go crazy in crowds and start calling everybody else “idiots”.If you have a good home, Good neighbors, happy life and a job opens up seven or even 20 miles from home, would it be sensible to give it all up and uproot your family or else turn down the better job?

Don’t complain, I can’t believe how cheap gas is in the US.

If miles driven remain fairly constant, the fuel cost will average out roughly even.
