Despite all the wordiness on Dez’s part, I understand exactly what she means. She means everyone needs to make time to just relax and not do stuff

But I’m surprised at Bernice’s reaction in the last panel. Here I was convinced that Bernice thought Dez was the greatest person in the world, especially compared to her former BFF. Could it be possible that Bernice is less enthusiastic about Dez all of the sudden?

Staples sells small versions of the “That was easy!” buttons that you push, and it actually says the phrase. I bought one and put it at my desk to go with my other “desk decor”. Funny thing, though- I push it, but it never seems to “make things easier” like it did on the commercials….

Dez is so exactly what Bernice needs! The point of all that paradox is to temporarily paralyze the brain so that you stop obsessing on everything stressing you—long enough to sit down and have a cup of tea. After that refreshment will make going back into the whirl much more efficient, and you will get more done in less time. But Bernice is so tightly wound she doesn’t see that.

When I did medical transcription, I always knew when the transcribers under me failed to take breaks, because I’d spend half my own time correcting their mistakes. Work without rest defeats itself.

It’s called chilling out. Just sit down, put your feet up, and grab the remote. Or a good book or magazine. And don’t feel guilty.

I call it picking up a book and reading uninterrupted for a few minutes. Does wonders for de-stressing.

Actually, I think Dez’ idea is a great one. People now days feel like if not every second of their Day Plannner (and what a stupid concept) is not completely packed with activities that somehow they are less parents, less human beings. It’s like these people are so scared to spend any reflective time with themselves. And Bernice is the Poster Child of this Day Planner mentality.

Dez has a way of making the easy sound hard.

Hard is coming to Luann late in the day and trying to read every comment (I can’t do it; I have to skip over some and just skim others).

I am pleased to see that a Sunday strip has some relevance to the story. This shows a bit more about Bernice’s dorm and with the mention of finals, indicates that a school year is ending. Bernice at least has studied something and presumably learned something. We have little evidence of Luann doing the same, but it is possible.

Was that Dez avoiding telling the Truth: She only takes One Class at a Time. .Because you have to take at least One Class to get into the Dorm.

Dez has it all figured out. She relaxes her mind, fails all her classes, and her parents write another check for another semester.
