Oh, a musical commercial, huh, Frank?
JayBluE over 9 years ago
Yeah, Frank- verrrry sneaky… – Wonder if Nancy would be annoyed to have it “shifted” on to her- or more so for his penchant for Pat Boone covers of Kraftwerk and Organization? – … Or for the fact that he thinks it’ll be time for him to hit the stage at the warehouse, once this gets all sorted out?

We haven’t had a any discussion of the organizational structure of this endeavor.
Who’s going to be in charge? What’s the share/split on ownership?Where does professor “voidage” fit in?Will there be a board of directors? Will TJ take an active role or just be a passive financier?
To voice just a few of the questions…

Just out of curiosity (since you seem more informed on this stuff than I am), do you know if any of these guys are still with us?

I think Nancy will not put up with this “business (musical) arrangement” for long. Maybe Frank’s enthusiasm will burn out quickly and the DeGroots will come to their senses and get out of this wretched deal!

TJ, Col Zebo and now Frank playing guitar. WHy don’t they just call this Warehouse “The Titanic Hindenburg Lusitania Challenger Gigli II” It’s the only way it could have more Disaster written all over it!

Frankie…. Come on now…. if your real mid-life crisis is to relive your guitar playing youth…. go find an open mike night at a coffee house… you do not need to own a warehouse and make your own stage/coffee bar/bistro/etc to do that.

Yeah, this whole thing could be a bad idea. However…Today’s strip demonstrates that Nancy is acutely aware of the details, work required, and paperwork- even the need to organize that paperwork. She appears pretty capable and savvy, and not at all annoyed. As for Frank, he’s not an unaware moron simply because we don’t see him wringing his hands in worry. Nothing wrong with seeing it as an exciting adventure. That is what keeps people motivated to do the hard work. It appears that he had a plan in that big, bulky binder labeled Warehouse Plan. We are not being given all the fine details, as per ush- wouldn’t a comic strip be technical instead of lightly funny, if it were filled with all that detail? I’m just saying that I’m not automatically thinking that Frank is a moron, just because he finds the venture fun and exciting, and sees it as a place he can actually enjoy while he is facilitating functions. What is wrong with him performing a song, at his own venue, if he has some skills? We have no reason to think one way or the other yet. All that being said, I’d love to see, just for comedic effect, an El Kabong quality guitar smash of Frank’s guitar, by Nancy, if he proves to be dumping the work on Nancy, and trapping her into a scenario she doesn’t want. Right now, for me, except for the TJ involvement, I’m not seeing enough to completely dismiss this venture as an awful idea.

Sons of the Pioneers? Of course, that’s what has inspired Frank all along- they are the reason he picked up a guitar! Awesome, Brdshtt!!

“If they had a water feature near the warehouse, it could be “Smoke On The Water”^LOL, true! And that’s something I was reminded of, when I recall TJ and the burning of Mrs. Horner’s: “….Some stupid with a flare gun….” (♪)

(“…Guitarzan…”:) Man, I’m kicking myself! How could I have forgotten about Ray Stevens?! Man, I wasn’t even thinking! Could’ve “plugged a link” to that song! (Have a good, clean “45”: of it, with a crazy story about how I was able to get it, too…) – (“String Theory”:) Good one, too! -
