I have two sons in early teens, but I can’t remember ever saying any of those things. Maybe I just don’t mind them picking up dead things, especially if they throw them out of my garden. Or maybe it is still to come. Now I have a baby daughter and that is for sure – I ’m rather worried what is awaiting me.

What does Calcutta smell like? I’ve been there many times and I’d like to know which of the smells there is the one it smells like.

“Do I have a son”? Only if you count nonhuman offspring with four legs and a tail.

I have three sons and one of the more common phrases was, “Is anything broken?” Or more likely, “What’s broken now?” And sometimes, “Better mop up that blood.”

Two sons in their 30s. Older son has more “rascal” stories, younger son has many funny “achievement” stories. Both were great fun, I miss throwing the baseball with them.

@Tony/beviek I have three wonderful biological sons and 2 awesome “bonus” sons plus two amazing daughters.

@JPuzzleWhiz There’s a lot of things that I never imagined saying, the one coming to mind now is “Don’t punch your sister for taking your panties, I’ll talk to her.”

Or imagined saying to your grandsons. Just back from trip to SD with boys 7 and 12. Stop picking your feet (flip flops)at the table are words I never imagined saying and that to the 7 yr old. He also got a great pic of dead bird in our car grill:)

We raised girls and they are so different:)

I have two sons. Both in their 20’s now. My, where do the years go, anyway?

I don’t know what I couldn’t have imagined saying before kids, but I could never have imagined how much love I could possibly carry in my heart for them.

Thanks @beviek and @Dry and Dusty. I appreciate your kind words.@2old, The Real Deal, I cried too when I saw my little girl for the first time. It was back at the motel. At the wedding she came down a staircase. My eyes were locked on to hers. When we turned to start walking I could see a sea of tears from everyone else.
