Boy, the apple on Quill’s shirt may start to turn a bit brown…and might as well have a worm eating through it, once Luann finds out…

It could be worse – they could decide to open the warehouse with a gallery show of more art from Zebu’s class.

If Quill says no to either one, it’ll make him look bad between either Luann or her parents?

Go to New York, because I doubt you’ll get to perform Shakespeare for the Pitts yokels!

We’ve never met Quill’s very lenient parents. I wish that would happen. They must be strange.

“Well, gee, folks, I was planning on taking your daughter to New York for street food and sex during our break.” I’m starting to need mental galoshes just to wade through these story lines. It’s turning into a soap opera.

Notice that Quill’s first thoughts are of Luann – “Dear Prudence” is nowhere in that picture! They’ll figure this one out.

Interesting dramatic conflict developing here. NYC with Luann? NYC with Luann and Pru? Or Pitts, to please Luann’s parents?Quill has some thinking to do….

Shouldn’t they leave this all to Mr. Gray? That would let Quill off the hook. They could have Vegas showgirls & an Elvis impersonator. Maybe Wayne Newton could make an appearance….

Why not do both? He could still do the play & take Luann to NYC later in the break, and be the hero. Plus Luann might be totally onboard and help with the sets & staging, which is totally in her wheelhouse.

“Oh, and Luann will get to play Eleanor.”.Not sure about that, but she does have acting experience, and there is no reason why Quill could not cast her for an independent show.

So really and truly the DeGroots are just flying by the seat of their pants, didn’t really make any plans for the warehouse, just kind of wait and see what happens.

That being said Quill came back to do theater, this is a good opportunity for him. Oh wait! Special Snowflake may get upset. Who cares if it would help his career in the long run, Luann comes first.

-Quill had a balance? … He’s still around a lot, but that isn’t good enough for Luann, as she wants him around all the time

This is something I feel strongly about, because of my own family experience. And the instances we’ve seen of Quill’s decision making remind me too much of my family’s experience.

My father died at the age of 40, and I can remember some of our time together, before he got so heavily involved in trying to make his business a success that he wasn’t around when we were awake. But my younger brother has no memories of him.

My bro and I were lucky that our young, widowed Mom, after working for a few years, met and married the guy who became our step father, but was truly a Dad. He had a business, too, but managed to get home most nights to either eat dinner with us, or at least check our homework before we went to sleep. And he was a big part of our weekends, too.

I sincerely doubt that my late Mom ever had to ask him to find a time to ‘make out’, as Luann did when Quill was lecturing her about how important it was to do whatever he was doing.

I’m glad my brother had a good example of what a Dad can be to kids, because he showed that in his life with his three kids. But it always makes me feel sad that he had no memory of our father. And his kids — our father’s grandkids — as a result can only think of our Step Dad when they think ‘Grandpa’.

And that is a loss, believe me.

Dave… Tony might fit the “pseudo-mafia-esque” nature of Mr. Gray’s character, but do you think he would be the kind of draw that Pitt, CA needs… or that “The Fuse” needs? I am not so sure. I know! Mr. Gray should arrange for David Cassidy (Partridge Family)!!!! That way he would be drawing in all the young folks!!!!! (this is an attempt at humor :) )But, seriously, what is your take on what would be a good event for Quill to produce? Would you say a play, a musical, a concert, a film screening, or something else? I am not really sure what I think WOULD fly in “The Fuse’s” venue. And, if the holidays definitely mean Christmas…. I guess that could mean a “Christmasy” show of some sort, but still unsure of the route to proceed.

Dave…. I agree…. Tony has been making the rounds. But, I still think that the average Pitt teen/young adult will have little to no knowledge of Mr. Bennett. But, I guess perhaps this would be a kind of fun entry for a bunch of celebrity guests in Luann. The Simpsons do it regularly, with aplomb. Might be harder to get a celeb to go for this with their voice not being used, though.

I don’t see why Quill couldn’t do both. A winter break can be at least two weeks, maybe a month. They can’t afford to be in NYC for more than a few days anyway. Start planning the show, then takes a couple days off to go to NYC.. then come back and do the show.

I was actually being a little bit facetious there—-thinking about classic, old Las Vegas. I can’t say that I especially want to see Wayne Newton, but an Elvis impersonator might be fun. The point being is that Mr. Gray could probably handle the big opening night just as easily as he did the repairs.
