Brutus: Not yet, but I'm the Born Loser...I know it's just a matter of time before something does! Gladys: Don't be such a pessimist - it's not good for your health. Gladys: They've even done studies that show optimistic people live longer than pessimists. Brutus: Well, sure...and do you know why that is? Brutus: The pessimists are pessimistic because they know they're not gonna live as long!

That’s something to be optimistic about. You don’t have to the born loser for long.

Optimists are always getting nasty surprises because things don’t turn out as well as they expected. Pessimists get pleasant surprises because things aren’t as bad as they’d thought they’d be. That’s why I’m a pessimist.
