I hope this is not a sign that Luann will get back together with Quill. I was really hoping for her to move on in her life and start trying to figure out what she wanted to do herself, not just be someone’s cheerleader from the sidelines…

This should be better than the Leslie – Mr. Gray duo of doom.

in defense of Q as a character and a chance for him to grow up …………………… why people dislike “any hint of any character being goody 2 shoes”? ( which he kind of has good morals but at same is not perfect )and see them as bland? the silly syndrome of people wanting "the bad ______ " or " flawed ____ " instead of " the good ____ " when going out on dates, but if they end up marrying the bad apple, they lament not going for the good apple? and he has strong values but is NOT perfect, and he needs to learn that YES, he should pursue dreams, but at same time should give time to those he chooses as friends and girlfriends specially if they have different interests than you……………. he just can’t hide from people when things go sour ( he did not just took a break from Luann, he decided to break contact with Pru, with the Degroot parents, with a job he had, even seems he has not talked to his roommate ) and both Luann and Q need to learn to communicate and just don’t make assumptions of each other

I don’t understand the anti-Quill sentiment that some have expressed. I feel that Quill is faultless, even in advising Luann to “get a life”. After all, she had been giving him hell in the most petty and immature ways. He was just sick of it. I have not been anxious for them to get back together, but it could be okay if she were ready to handle her own life, and their relationship, in a more mature way.

If for some reason they resume their relationship, I hope Quill quits being so self-centered for once.

I guess I am only visitor here that likes the character of Quill. At least he knows what he wants from life. Whereas Lulu has not a clue.

It’s good to see Quill and Luann talking, even if only a word at a time. I liked Quill’s comment in the last panel. His expression seems friendly, it’s just a little sad, and also a little playful bit of the old Quill that Luann found so charming before. I can’t see Quill putting his career first or Luann’s desire to be valued over all else as moral or ethical failings. They simply have different values. I think Quill should have checked with Luann before cancelling his plans to go to New York with her, maybe he couldn’t resist using that as an excuse to do what he really wanted to anyway. But he’s still young and growing up. Luann dreams of being the most important thing in a young man’s heart, a princess he would abandon it all for if need be, wealth, power, or even opportunities to further his acting career. She may be a bit naive, Quill needs to build a solid career before he’ll be able to offer financial security to his spouse, and this is the time in his life to do it. But she is young as well, and like all the characters, still growing. I hope they will mend things and part as friends when the time comes.

Two words: “see ya!”.

I’m hardly a Quill fan, but I found his line in the last panel pretty funny. Nothing snarky or mean, just an amusing comment on the awkwardness of the situation.

I had wondered if it was unrealistic to believe Luann and Quill would never cross paths again. So this is part of growth and acceptance, I hope, as much as any rekindling of their relationship. Best not to read too much into this, but I do prefer that Luann be unattached for awhile or casually date.

Well, don’t forget, it is only Monday. The best (and maybe most accurate) opportunity is usually when the “game clock” is down to “all zeroes”, then you’d really have the nearly undeniable chance to “guarantee victory”! It is also coincidentally the same time that way across town, a heavyset mesosoprano (who is probably a fan of the Minnesota football team) is somewhere vocalizing a melody, to indicate the fact that some guy can now bust out of the opera house, knowing that it is all done!!

8This seems like it will be an interesting week!It is my hope that Luann and Quill do NOT get back together. I really feel both of them needs time to grow and develop into who they want to be in life before they get so serious into a relationship. With that said, I do hope that they BOTH also apologize to each other for the mean ways they both acted. But, I hope that when they do apologize, they both agree that being friends and not dating is a better choice for both of them at this time. I wonder if we will get to hear/read anything about Quill’s Spring Break Trip this week? That would be enjoyable!

Two hopeful words for now:“Just friends”The future is an unknown, but for now as they each grow in their own ways being just friends could be a good fit.

Uhhhhhh, haven’t many of you who expect either a coupling or nothing yet become friends with some exes?That is what usually happened with my past relationships. Not all, but most. One of my past boyfriends and i still have some great discussions about hypotheses and studies many decades later. Another and i can talk with years between discussions knowing we still can each trust the other.Relationship equations do not have only two possible answers. While the characters are growing the choice does not have to be either a total split or a romance. Friendship is always an option. These two have always known how to be trusted friends. Whatever happens later is for the future to tell, but friendship is a truly wonderful thing.

As far as i am concerned, being in your fifties is still young. Sophisticatedly mature, yes, but also young. So, happy birthday, young one!

BTW, When you reach your 60s, you get to have a birthday WEEK. 80s gets a birthday month.

As soon as he was in the strip to day I KNEW about 12 posts would be all about what a jerk he is, etc and o damn he’s back boring character, blah blah… oh well…..He did a crappy thing, bur should she HATE him for life? It was an awkward encounter. He seemed to trying to lighten it up. But a lot of you will assume he was just being nasty.

The straight-up Quill is getting snarky! This cannot augur well….

Luann’s parting remark (months ago) was that she was going to get her own ‘focused life’. She hasn’t done that yet. At least we haven’t seen it.

Quill didn’t do anything wrong, Luann’s lack of understanding caused the break up. Tiffany and Gunther have a better chance of talking things out and being honest about their feelings.

I am a little confused here. I thought Lu and MPQ were going to different schools. Lu was going to the community college and Quill to Loony U. Or was I mistaken? How would they run into each other going to class?

Been there, done that. Awkward. But left me with regrets

In almost all break-ups, as with the L and Q one, BOTH parties share blame, just in different ways usually. When people can see that afterward they can stop laying blame on the other and go on to have friendships. When one or both of them can’t — well, then they can’t, can they?I suspect that at some point the characters in the comic strip are going to be more level headed and fair, and far less angry on this score than some of the readers seem able to be in relation to their characters.

New question. Someone today, noting that Quill is coming from the direction of the dorm, suggested that Quill may have moved on campus. Question: do you think he has, or was he visiting someone in the dorm, or coming from another building in that direction?

I predict they get back together.

Quill and lu make a cute couple imho

There was a hokiday strip with an intro panel that showed thr main characters and pru. This was before pru was a main character. In reading thru archives since i got hooked on this tune earlier this yesr i notced this is how team evans foreshadows to us increased or diminushed imortance of the characters. I dint remember if quill was included

May 9th. On this day 41 years from now, I will turn 100.

I really liked Quill. He seemed to be a good guy. He liked Luann’s family and friends (that’s important). Don’t know why his character had to take such a huge turn for the worse. Today’s strip made Quill to be quite the dou@#*&ag. I just don’t get it.

Anyway, having submitted early, i just wanted to add that i thought it was perceptive of Wiselad when i thought about it.
