It’s not yet illegal to put duct tape over the camera on your laptop & we still have off buttons on the TV. Orwell didn’t know about GPS in addictive computers everyone wants in their pocket.
I think this is a reference to George Orwell’s Book “1984”. Based on the original dates of the strips leading up to this, it would make this one January 1984. Even so, Big Brother is still alive and well today…
Big Brother is watching you, each and every day in all those myriad ways. They don’t want you thinking about it, though – as the information that Big Brother gathers is used to nano-target advertising to you to make you spend money on junk you don’t need (but think you do) and vote the way they want you to (counter to your own interests).
They will never put up big honkin’ posters.
They WILL tell you that they are only here to help you, and don’t you wish that more things were “smart” and interconnected. Just ask Alexa.
