Breaking Cat News by Georgia Dunn for October 22, 2016
Transcript:
Lupin: Reports of slander are coming in from the living room. Elvis, what have you heard? Elvis: Lupin, ordinarily I don't come out from behind the couch when there's company, but viewers need to hear this. Lady: ...Don't let the cats near the Baby! They'll steal his breath! Puck: What? Why would we do that? Lupin: Lady, don't flatter yourself. I have my own breath. I breathe it all the time. Elvis: Oh, yeah, I'm totally going to steal the Baby's breath...right after I curse this spindle for him to prick his finger on. Puck: Do I look like an old Siberian witch? Elvis: Be right back, building a tower to imprison the baby. Woman: Um, thanks, but ah, I think that's just an old wive's tale. Puck: CN news, ma'am...Do I look like I live in a gingerbread house in the woods? Elvis: Why would I even go near the baby?

Have you smelled a baby’s breath? No one wants that.

OMG! This is my absolutely favourite BCN strip! It’s so ridiculous, it’s funny. Never fails to have me laughing hysterically, especially with all of the smart-alec remarks from the boys. Ha! :D

People still repeat that stupid old story, too.

Weird. This is another rare strip I don’t remember from the first time around at all. Still, I wish the whole newspaper process would go faster so that we can get new strips. I miss seeing new adventures from the gang.

Pucky as Baba Yaga. Nope. Maybe Baba Mouse as Baba Yaga—but they’ve not met her yet.

Cats will lie on top of babies because of the warmth and soft blankets. If the baby is too weak to roll out from underneath the cat, the weight of the cat makes it hard for the baby to breath. It becomes exhausted and dies of suffocation.

Someone once told me that with a straight face. My kids survived.

My Mother-in-law warned my late wife about this problem My son is now in his mid forties. Whew! I guess he was lucky.

People here still take their cats to the shelter saying “We have a baby in the house”. People here are so very stupid it’s beyond comprehension.

Well, when I had my first, we were staying at a friend’s house and she had a cat. We caught him once trying to climb into the bassinet. Not a good way to overcome an old wives’ tale…

Thats uber depressing that people still believe this

Well, you know, it’s hard to let go of the Dark Ages. Everyone had such a good time, were so kindly and enlightened. Sigh…the good ol’ days!

Wow!! Cats have to be really offended to resort to irony and sarcasm. Good thing these guys are so well-mannered. Betcha the Woman stays behind the couch with Elvis next time this visitor appears on the doorstep!

When we first brought home our daughter, Wendy Cat climbed in the bassinet and there she stayed. Our daughter grew up with her hand in cat fur from the beginning.
My mother had a fit, but my daughter is 50, so I guess she was lucky too!

My mother use to tell me a story about when I was a baby and how Tiger would be in the same crib as me. Well, Tiger would swish her tail in front of me and I would try to grab it. And when I did, she would gently remove it and start over. We would do this until I fell asleep and then she would curl up next to me and sleep next to me. My mother never feared for me.

My cat used to love to eat the baby’s breath that they put in flower arrangements. She would laugh at this old wife’s tale too.

I’m told my first (maybe second) word was “Kiki,” and that I’d crawl after the cat, calling her.
