Maybe for the weekends it would be worth it to invest into an automatic cat feeder. A good one isn’t that cheap but it won’t break the bank.

Would have made a teensy bit more sense to have run this strip a week ago, when the humans were sleeping late because they set the clocks ahead.

My cats must have known the clock had been ‘sprung forward’ and woke me up on time. All it takes is whiskers tickling my nose.

My girl is old enough to want to sleep in right along with me.

Scene in my house every morning. Although about five hours earlier. We’re still trying to figure out how to convince our two reporters that we’ve retired. <3

My cat was a meow right into my ear. Wet nose extra.

I had one who would lick the end of my nose until I got moving.

<-Ike will come up beside me and purr loudly if I’m sleeping on my side. If I’m on my back, I get a 15-lb cat on my chest and a butting kitty head under my chin.

I get this as soon as it starts to get light outside because the boys want to go outside on the back deck to bird watch. Dean purrs very loudly in my face while Sammy (now at 18lbs) sits on my chest and head butts me. And they know how to open the bedroom door so there’s no escape

I had one for years that’d wake me up by putting his cold nose right on my eyelid. Nothing like waking to find a cat nose a millimeter from your eye.

One of our Siameseses has this habit of sitting on my chest, sticking his nose on mine and then as loud as he can, saying ’Feed me, feed meeee noooow!"

My five make sure their dishes are kept full or there is a revolt. That doesn’t mean that at 4am it isn’t time for special kitty rubs however. I get “biscuits” made into my ribs until I wake up and rub one of the younger girls until she is satisfied then she leaves me alone and settles down next to me and snoozes. All of this while one is asleep on my hip is his usual place. Gotta love the attention grabbers.

Ozzie always did the Breakfast Dance on my chest when he thought it was time to get up. I miss those dances.

I use an automatic food dish, so my cats don’t associate my waking up with food. However… they do associate me being awake with petting. I often find myself waking up in the morning to a purring in my ear and a weight on my ribs.

I remember the kittens my family had when I was in high school. One night I was in a sound sleep. I felt something on my chest at one point and I just ignored it. That was until Shadow decide it would be a good idea to bite me right on my nose. That woke me up right away and I said ow to her. I don’t know what made her do that.

Now with the three cats I have in the house. Cupcake scares the heck out me when I am sleeping. She will come right up to my face and meow in it to wake me up. Problem is I don’t hear her half the time because she is so quiet. Kitt will just sleep next to me and I usually only notice him when I am turning over in my sleep. And have accidentally hit him with my hand. Not my fault when he decides to sleep with his butt right in my face.

Luckily for me, my boys are both of the mind “You wanna sleep in, Dad? Okay, we do, too!”
