May be something on the horizon. Bern is wearing a black long – sleeved shirt. Emo is wearing a black long – sleeved shirt. Bern is wearing the same scarf Emo is, just the color is different. If Bern had the beanie on like the one Emo is wearing, they would be a close match. Be even better if their scarves were the same color. They might very well make an interesting couple. I like Emo much better than that Piro chap.

It might be the other way around Emo with Luann and Jock with Bernice? Nope. It would have to be Luann with Jock, who is really a sensitive guy, and Emo, who is really an intellectual deep kind of guy, definitely different. Or not. It should be interesting. GOOO CUBBBIESS! Sorry, from Chicago.

Hope this gets interesting. Both Emo and Jock-o have some un-plumbed depths. Too bad we can’t morph them together and glean their good qualities. A sensitive, thoughtful jock! Tally Ho, Gregg!

The guys are interesting as classmates. I just don’t see them as romantic interests for either of them. I can’t make it work with any combination of couples. Still friends are good to have……………Good catch Mordock. I hate painting hands, too, but I wouldn’t have left one off, very funny On the other hand… Luann’s left could be the source of embarrassment very soon.

While my daughter was in the batting cages this evening, I had a chance to look at the last of the wedding dresses submitted to the contest. I will have to say my favorite was #232.

Haven’t seen Knute and Crystal in ages. (One of the posts brought them to mind.) Hope they make an appearance sometime – that’s a couple that’s definitely interesting.

Out of all the teens in this comic, Crystal and Delta seems to be the most well-grounded. Wish there were more strips with them in it – but I know the current storylines don’t exactly have room for them. Still, it’s nice to wish. :)

I guess that we are only looking at this from an unfortunate angle rather than Luann actually doing anything for the Big Guy.

Not only are Bern and Emo’s scarves similar… but even their hair is similar color and style are similar too. Note the Pointy edges. Are they twins? Only their hairdresser knows for sure… or Sheer delight. LOL A coupling of them together might be good. He has been shown to be sensitive yet mysterious.

Can’t wait for the introductions, since as far as we know Luann does not know their names.

Come to think of it. Bernice IS a bit goth. Actually I’m getting a bit tired of this whole college thing. Too many characters are being introduced for a strip to flesh out. Probably need to step back and just read it for the gags. P.S. Does this mean we will see Bernie in a “censored” sandwich board in the near future.. What a wedding reception that will make!?!?

What a fun turn of events! I am enjoying all of this week a great deal, and today is especially pleasant.

.

If this is going where it seems it may and they hang out and perhaps even double date….. I think that even though Bernice will resist and be hesitant about hanging out with Emo, if she were to get to know him…. I suspect she would find him an interesting friend to have, and potentially after a couple of casual “dates” she may even find him interesting enough to be willing to become boyfriend/girlfriend with him.

I suspect that Luann will be willing to hang out with Jock, and with this interaction may too be willing to go on a date with Jock. But, currently, I tend to think that Luann and Jock would be less likely to move into the boyfriend/girlfriend stage…. but I could see them becoming strong friends.

Now, at this time, I firmly believe that Luann, Jock, Bernice, and Emo should AT MOST have a casual date or to…. or just all become closer friends. In terms of the Luanniverse…. I would like to see at least six months of more friendship/casual date sorts of build up between these characters BEFORE any possibility of a boyfriend/girlfriend sort of attachment would occur. It would be really nice for Luann to not jump headfirst so quickly into the boyfriend/girlfriend sort of thing, and I do not think it is really Bernice’s natural inclination to do so…. she seems like she would naturally go about the process of becoming a boyfriend/girlfriend duo more slowly anyway.

Hey… do not get me wrong….. I really like the Piro character and his “mystery” too. And I have enjoyed Bernice’s crush-from-afar story arcs with him too. I do not want them to stop. But I could see Greg perhaps producing an array of arcs where Bernice may develop interests in both Piro and Emo and then have conflict that she works through deciding who may be a better potential boyfriend/girlfriend mix for HER in the long run…. and in the process…. she will learn a great deal about herself…. and maybe not get a “C” on the next psychology test. :)

Hmmmmmm, it would be intriguing if both guys wind up interested in Bernice. Hopefully, Luann would be fine with that, and it could create some fun in a new way.

And now, Luann will SHOW us what she means – lead by example, if you will.

Luann has not shown a romantic interest in either guy, so this arc might infuriate some, but it might lead into casual dating. The group that has been concerned has contained two subgroups, one not wanting Luann to date at all and the other wanting her to discover casual dating instead of more romance.

Since she has not been interested in them yet i am kind of hoping that Luann casually dates someone else, and am hoping that the two guys both wind up interested in Bernice. When she was younger that would have caused jealousy in Luann and i want to see her past that. Also, i want to see Bernice in a new position where she realizes that she matters, to better help her treat herself that way in her re-evaluations of herself and her life. That is a different type of option.

Still, i guess in conversation Luann might find she likes one of them well enough to date for fun rather than for romance. Neither Luann nor Bernice has discovered yet that life has this option.

Hmmm, question for the women here. When we were teens where i grew up there were twins (actual twins) but then there were times when close friends would purposely dress similarly to see if strangers would think they were twins, which was “twinsies”. No one picked up on the term. Was it regional?

I hadn’t thought of both guys taking an interest in Bernice. That could be fun for her. Since Luann is in her new place, she could tease Bernice…could be fun.

Maybe Jock has a brother who could develop into a love interest for Luann, after several mishaps.

Luann shows well talking with adult women. Maybe the four end up at Jock’s house and we meet his Mom and brother. Maybe see some of Jock’s artwork and see why he thinks he is an artist.

They’re young. More fun.

I think it is good character development of Greg to draw Luannnes upper body as open, her shoulders back and Bernices upper body as closed and shoulders forward. Really tells the story.

I’d like to see the rest of Luann’s sentence. ’’…try something crazy and….??" Fun? Wild? Out of character?

It’s crazy that we know the name of the dog owned by the classmate who keeps asking Luann out, but we don’t know the classmate’s name…

hmmm… I’m sure this has been commented on but I can’t help but notice that Emo and Bernice both have scarves (similarly patterned) knotted around the neck in the exact same way. The scarf on Emo gives him something in common with Piro.

So she fell for Piro and started wearing a scarf, she’ll fall for Emo and start wearing a hat. Winter’s coming so I hope she falls for a guy who wears gloves…

Depending on Bernice’s curiosity about Emo-guy, Luann could probably give her a good description of his, shall we say, “physique”.

Prediction: A fun time will be had by all.
