At least you did your best, which is more than the political parties can say.

Ah, but at least you participated and voted… You now have the right to complain, unlike those who ducked their responsibility.

Many of us will set aside our pride in the system today. It is unfortunate that we will have to do that by voting for candidates who have rarely ever exhibited any shred of pride in recent decades.

I say “Don’t Vote – Don’t Complain”! My stepfather drove my mother and me crazy by complaining, but he never voted.

Restoration of the equal time regulations in broadcasting would do a lot to reduce the straying from reality and common sense that we have seen so much of since Reagan.

Get used to it – England has been stuck with picking the least-worst out of a lineup of total bozos for decades. Here in Scotland we have the great good fortune of having a lineup of candidates who are all fairly good (at least since Wee Eck stepped down).

I voted for a minor party candidate because no way could I vote for either of the two bozos the major parties have foisted on the rest of us. I’ll acknowledge that Trump is a protest candidate…HRC was the preferred choice of her party. As Homer J. says above, whoever wins, we lose and the anger will not subside tomorrow. If anything, it’ll only get worse once winners and losers are determined (one way or another).

Even with all the angst and fear about this election, our system is still much better than the alternatives. I prefer not to live under a dictatorship.

Voter suppression, the lines in my area are so long that I can’t possibly get in to vote, since I don’t have hours to wait. All those darn democrats and republicans are suppressing my vote…

    Kidding of course!

Since I believe that politics is nothing but a cesspool, and whoever wins is just in it for him or herself (which is shown with alarming clarity in this election), my vote either way means nothing. And, since I am a citizen and pay taxes, I can (and do) complain.

    BHALL77801 said,

“They should have a box on the ballots for “None of the above”.”

    .

So let me repeat my proposal:

    .

Every registered voter should be a potential YES vote whether they vote or not, silence taken as consent.

Let every voter actually vote FOR any candidate he/she/it considers preferable.Best to just vote FOR one, but more would be allowed, the vote would not be thrown out for over-voting.

    .

Let every voter vote AGAINST any candidate or candidates considered unacceptable.Any candidate receiving a majority AGAINST would be considered rejected.

Of the remaining candidates, the ones receiving the most FOR votes would be elected.

    .

In most elections the major candidates would still have enough YES votes to be elected if they just got the majority of FOR and YES votes.

In those extremely unlikely cases where major parties offered people so unacceptable to the American that a majority of the electorate said AGAINST they would be rejected and a third party candidate would be elected or a new election would be held with those rejected not considered for that election.

(They could try again next time.)
