Mikeyj about 8 years ago
So, are the firefighters going to the wedding? And, where’s the Captain?
Mikeyj about 8 years ago
Mr Yzazz has an injury… probably got punched by Toni, for his sexual harassment comments!

The black guy looks like he’s been attending a Star Trek convention.

The posters who were sure that the big mouth firefighter would be badly injured and end up in the hospital are probably disappointed…

Airman, left you two late yesterday.

Can’t help but wonder what will go wrong. Knowing TJ, plenty.
luann1212 about 8 years ago
What I wonder is how, even in Luannverse, this will last until the 11th. I still think it will happen sooner. As for the firefighters they just finished fighting a wildfire, and they must be tired, need showers, and are sharing camaraderie that should be normal for fire companies. And I think the so-called big mouth is just a guy with a teasing sense of humor, and would, in real life, save yours if it came to it. He can be a big-mouth as he wants to be for my money. -:)

I think that they’re at Dec. 11 already since the family is getting dressed for the wedding.

The band aid should have been over the guy’s mouth.

Occasionally – Because readers of the daily strip in newspapers don’t necessarily have access to the Sunday strip, and vice versa – Signature events will occur in both, at roughly the same time.
.
Speaking of Time …
.
In the original STAR TREK series, the “Star Dates” were made up as they went along, with no internal logic to the numbers.
.
For THE NEXT GENERATION, a more consistent system was devised, with the second number representing whichever season the episode took place within.
.
From Wikipedia …
.
A stardate is a five-digit number followed by a decimal point and one more digit. Example: “41254.7.” The first two digits of the stardate are always “41.” The 4 stands for 24th century, the 1 indicates first season. The additional three leading digits will progress unevenly during the course of the season from 000 to 999. The digit following the decimal point is generally regarded as a day counter.
.
This is most noticeable during season-ending cliffhangers, which inevitably begin with the counter near ‘999’ and resolve in the season premiere past the ‘000’ rollover point.
.
If I belonged to Starfleet, I’d do my best to stay home with the covers pulled up over my head at that time.

Perhaps they will have an even busier night, unless they both conk off during the reception…

Given how far ahead cartoonists in the print medium need to work, Greg’s almost certainly well past the wedding by now.

Glad none of them got hurt – now, someone punch Mr. Inappropriate Comment over there at second from left…

Some pretty dinged up lads and lass, this bunch! Maybe they all stopped along the way, found a Pitch with sone ruddy blokes jawing a bit, and fancied to take up a match in some Association futbol…
-
Serves right for those chaps from the fire service in Sykes to take that loss, with all that rubbish about our boys (and girl) with all that ‘bollywoggle’ they served up , in suspect jest about their game! Yeah, take that, blokes, at the hands of the Pitts crew! Jolly good show, crowd!

I’m guessing the 12/11 strip (a Sunday, right?) will be a single panel showing the kiss. We appear to already be on 12/11, Luanniverse time. Plenty of room for two weeks of hilarity with missing clergy (“You told me to turn right on Riverside!”), long-lost relatives and at least one surprise appearance (could be Cathy, dropping furious hints to Irving, or maybe some Pattersons).
There will be guests who have no particular connection to B&T, but that we’ve known as friends of Luann’s over the years. We may get to meet Toni’s uncle and aunt, we may have confirmation that Mrs. Horner is still above the grass, and there’s even a possibility that Les will get busted trying to make off with a small, easily-concealed wedding gift or two.
If I found any of this boring, I wouldn’t find it necessary to advertise my boredom to the rest of you. But that’s just me…

Bet you that the anticipated Dec 11th is the day when the priest announces them man and wife and tells them to kiss. They will arrive at the wedding and have some drama in the next two weeks at the wedding. Always happens when it involves TJ.

Interesting. I presume all the other firefighters are going to the wedding as well, so there will be a cargo of folks needing to clean up.
.
The last few days have surprised me in that the “wildfire” was so very, very close to the wedding…. apparently the day before or the day of according to how all this is reading now. Originally I had thought it was at least a few days to perhaps a week prior to the wedding.
.
So, now I am wondering…. it seemed like a few of the regulars who tend to have at least somewhat of a handle on “insider news” about the comic (Sheriff (of course), Schrodinger’s Dog, AE2, Sukie, and a few others)…. that there was a near guarantee of some form of big “drama” going to transpire before the wedding. My questions now are:
.
1. Was this mini-wildfire arc where everyone is fine, sufficient to count as this “drama”?
.
2. Is there something else ahead that could still be a more “amped-up” type of drama? (i.e. flat tire preventing them from getting back in time, or a car crash, or something akin to this?)
.
3. Is the “drama” perhaps still to come in some other arena (the home remodel?)?
.
* * * *And now, finally…. perhaps most perplexing of all….. and this is in regard to the fellow with the mustache in panel one….. how on Earth did Greg get the Gene Roddenbery Foundation to allow a mash-up between the Star Trek franchise and Luann the comic? And, all things MUST be safe in the vehicle… because the mustache guy would have to be wearing a red uniform if he were being killed off instead of the blue (science/medical) uniform he has on. :)

This is torturous. Wake me when this stupid wedding is history and something interesting is here….
locake about 8 years ago
A normal wedding is an all day event for the bride and groom. I would not want anything else going on in addition to my wedding. Most couples would have taken the days before off from work. There must be 2 other firefighters in the state of California who could have taken B and T’s place.
Night-Gaunt49[Bozo is Boffo] about 8 years ago
I agree with you, they need to not get so aggressive over it. Unless they want to get arrested for A & B.

Star Trek (Original series) uniforms? Really?
seismic-2 Premium Member about 8 years ago
A washrag-based clean-up isn’t going to get the smoke, soot, sweat, mud, and overwhelming stench off them before they put on their wedding clothes. Toni bought her gown (which won’t be worth saving, after she gets it covered in grime), but Brad is renting his tux, isn’t he? If so, he will just have to buy it, since there’s no way it will be wearable again after he gets into it today.

Seriously, can’t these people take time to go to the first station first and take a shower? I’m sure the owner of the wedding cottage doesn’t want them to show up covered in a hillside’s worth of ash and dirt that they would trek all over the floor.

Dry cleaners rescue unburned clothing from places which had fires, so i suspect they coukd cope.
beazle about 8 years ago
I’m about to be proven wrong on a prediction I made months ago. I was certain the wedding would be held at the fire station. Then the captain denied it, but I was sure it would still be held there at the last minute. YOUR FORESHADOWING HAS FAILED ME, GREG EVANS.

Given a bus-load of dirty, scruffy, but successful firefighters, I’d be happy.
But I do wonder what’s going to fill time until the (RL) 11 December….
Mikeyj about 8 years ago
Mr. Big Smile/Jokester that he should be punched, put a sock in it, etc. should actually be the ones putting a sock in it or getting punched. He is a good humoured, fun, harmless guy, ^^^No, he’s more like the type who would fill the entire limousine with manure, during the reception… And, yes, I know someone who did something very much like this!

Wondering: Saturday’s panel shows lady at Cottage 4 – 2 asking TJ, “Is there a problem?” TJ responds with “Why do you ask?” It’s what her answer will be that puzzles me. Something creating trouble? Or nothing? Of course, the mysterious Mr. Gray can make anything go away.
