I love the fact that they love each other, and recognize that they’re each marrying and loving an imperfect person…someone who is also soon to be a “rookie” at the whole marriage thing, too…

    -

I also love the fact that their ceremony is “all done up in blue”….

On the other hand, Greg’s done a more than commendable job with the contest-winning bridal gown.

When a friend of mine got married a while back, the music was done by another friend. He showed up with his vintage Hammond B – 3 organ with the Leslie speaker, played the wedding march, and at the first dance, by request, he did just the organ part of Procol Harum’s “Whiter Shade of Pale” – no vocals. It was beyond great.

    .

This is what it sounded like:

    .

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2LzSItsQ80

    .

The organ in the video is not a Hammond B – 3, but it sounds decent. Doesn’t get that “growl” on the glissandos like the B – 3 does, though.

at the first dance, by request, he did just the organ part of Procol Harum’s “Whiter Shade of Pale” – no vocals.

    Which means he actually played:

Classical music expert Maarten ‘t Hart calls A Whiter Shade of Pale an “original adaptation” of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe, BWV 156. Besides, the Hammond organ line of the song came from Bach’s “Sleepers, Wake!” and “Air on the G String” – both of which use a similar stepwise bass motion.

As I remember a couple years back, there was an arc in which Team Evans answered our question “Why does Lu have red hair when her parents’ is black?”

When has Luann ever had red hair? It’s always been blonde.<<<<<<Luann is a Strawberry blonde, which is considered to be, despite the name, a redhead… look at that pic of a young Karen and you’ll see what it looks like.

    .

Interesting. I was not anticipating the Cottage 4-2 Owner/Operator to be the Officiant at the wedding. It did not really seem to be in her “wheelhouse” relative to what we have previously seen of her character.

    .

So, will tomorrow be simply “We pronounce you husband and wife.”? Or could there still be something else? And, I presume that Sunday will be either a) “We pronounce you husband and wife.” or b) an image of the two kissing as husband and wife.

    .

So, what do folks predict? Will next week be scenes of the reception/party? Will next week be scenes of the honeymoon (not the bedroom, of course)? Will next week be some other story arc?

    (1) Apparently this is a purely secular ceremony. The wedding cottage lady says “We are joyously gathered here” instead of “We are gatehred here in the sight of God”. Since we have never seen the DeGroots (or Toni) practicing any religion, it would have been surprising if they had chosen a religious wedding officiated by clergy.

    (2) We don’t see Toni’s bicep tattoo underneath those streamers.

    (3) The person who walks the bride down the aisle is suppsed to stand beside her until he gives here away, and then he’s supposed to sit down. Jonah has just moved over to stand next to the best man.

    (4) The people who were complaining about that bow on Luann’s dress were right. It looks as if she’s wearing a Bat-Man T-shirt.

When she was shopping for a wedding gown, Toni could have chosen one with a sleeve that would cover the tattoo. However, she chose one with spaghetti straps, so she must have assumed people would be able to see the tattoo. So far, of course, we haven’t.

The ceremony has begun, with Cottage 4 2 Lady officiating. It looks like a nice, small wedding, with just two Groomsmen (but, ugh, TJ and Jonah, ptui!) and two Bridesmaids (Luann and Shannon). And the attendees, whom we saw yesterday, are relatively few, also (Gunther and Bernice on one side, and the Captain and the fire-crew, including Loud Mouth, on the other side are the only ones I could identify with assurance, though I believe some of the people in the front rows were relatives of the couple)….

The wedding is perfect except for the fact that Luanne’s and Shannon’s dresses are truly hideous. It might be the bow in the middle of the bodice that really completes the awfulness, I’m not sure. Or is it the zig zagging hemlines? Oh well, it just makes Toni look all the more beautiful. Brad is one lucky guy.

I hadn’t previously noticed the slanted hem on Luann’s dress and the two opposite slanting tiers. It does make the design a bit more interesting.*Also, I didn’t expect that the owner of the business (the cottage) would be officiating. But since my younger sister’s recent wedding where her partner’s father officiated, I know that family members or anyone can train with a religious denomination so as to be able to legally officiate at a wedding. I guess this lady must have those credentials. I was expecting a minister or other official.*I’m still hoping Puddles will be shown for the ring portion of the ceremony. I’m guessing that Sunday will be the finale.

Throughout this whole process, I believe TJ has conducted himself as a true best friend… i.e. the way he handled all the preparations and then at the final moment when Brad was a bundle of nerves he instinctively knew how to calm Brad down. Looking at TJ and Jonah standing together, I now wonder if it will be TJ who puts Jonah on the ‘straight and narrow’.

GS4E actually claims to be a “college educated female,” as she has frequently boasted in preface to a typically obnoxious, poorly phrased and adolescently punctuated post, which always has the unintended effect of making me laugh. She says she lives with 8 german shepherds as companions. There seems to be a very strong aversion to human males in much of her posts, with sentiments such as, “Why would anyone in her right mind take a MAN shopping with her…?”, “Sorry, I’d rather be licked by my dog than go anywhere NEAR that old, food-encrusted mustache full of nose debris!!!,” and other posts along the same lines, coupled with her strong dislike of anything having to do with this wedding arc. Dogs Rule for her, not male humans, apparently. Posts are always hit-and-run; there is never any response given to any reply to her posts. Protesting her obnoxious, trollish posts is like screaming at a…well, post. Ultimately futile.
