dez: so, what's your job here?
bernice: just make sure nothing's broken or dirty- or lost, like that scarf...
bernice: wait- is this piro's when did he leave this here?
dez: more important, when did the tv get stolen?
Hmm, wonder if this is a way that Piro planned to lure Bern into a surprise silent movie fest at whatever place he’s crashing at the moment? Maybe he really does like Bernice? And he left his scarf purposely so she’d know to hunt him down? Although, he would probably have to leave some clue to his whereabouts, too, since he doesn’t have permanent digs. Interesting direction this has taken…
The return of Piro and the disappearing TV. Lots of possibilities. Sounds like a Scooby- D0 mystery. Now all we need is Shaggy, Velma and the gang… but don’t forget the Scooby snacks. Zoinks…. and don’t forget that Piro borrowed those scarves ( or at least 2 or them from Hair. Does that make it part of his " hair supplies"? I do like the larger size of the comic strip and the comments. I never had an avatar b4 so that is cool. I found it rather easy to change my username, though I did the sign up and update a few days prior to the new site going live, like one of the fans suggested and it was a piece of cake.
Yay, Actually missed Piro in the story I think Gunther is a too safe of a choie for Bern she needs someone who is going to challenge her like Zain did. I still miss him
Well, one thing I do like is that the replies are directly under the remark in question, instead of being tacked on at the bottom of the list, making you wonder “what was that about”?
So the Common Room’s Flat Screen TV was “Liberated,” uh? I got a suggestion for ya, Bern. Go to the local Thrift Store and Replace it one those Old Boxy, Heavy, CRT TVs. I donated one in perfect working order, to a local Thrift Store last year and was told that “Nobody wanted those, anymore. Nobody.”
I can safely say the TVs in the common areas of my dorm buildings were never the sort of TV that one would seriously consider stealing for any reason what so ever.
Maybe if they were in a pinch for a wheel-chock, or boat anchor, or something like that, but not for an actual “TV I would not mind watching or could sell for money”
Ah, my criminal lawyer back ground instincts kick in!! A circumstantial case being made against Piro, with the scarf and the missing TV. That is an easy defense. That scarf could have been left at any time, and while he hangs on campus a lot, and is apparently not a registered student (although we don’t know that for sure) that does not mean he was around or had anything to do with the TV being missing. Moreover, is that HIS scarf, or some unknown parties? And the TV maybe its just out for repair or replacement, and the RA/ Bernice, not being on campus presumably on break, might not be informed about that. But again this is the beginning of a new arc, so lets see where it goes, And for those who care I am Luann1212, and when have time, or one of you great tech geeks would be kind enough to help, please tell me how I can get my correct moniker, with this new system? I would most appreciate.
My biggest complaint about the “New GoComics” site is that favorites are not listed on each strips page making it much more work to get to the next comic. I do like that the replies are attached to the comment!
One doesn’t get much money for plain TV unless it is a computer with flat screen and video attachments. Bernice used it to show a silent film so it may have had some value.
My comics have changed I can’t get back to the site I used to. I get to the site that says here are some comics we thought you might like. Can’t get to my page HELP left messages but no response in last two days
I think, sadly, that Bernice is going to move into an emotional death spiral here. She is going to incorrectly associate the two details she noticed (Piro’s scarf and the missing television) as being tied together (like a scarf… HA! Pun intentional). She will be in a bad place thinking her “beloved, true love,” Piro has pilfered the television!!!!!.
.
I am actually thinking this will be a cute and funny adventure. I do feel sorry for the angst that Bernice is likely to feel, but for us readers, I suspect it will be quite entertaining!
“………I thought most flat screen TV’s these days also had a computer plug input , or at least an HDMI connection which many video cards have these days……………”_________________________________________________________________________________________ seems to me when Hair and Gunther and Bernice were watching the film, the monitor was kind of boxy and that it was an old VCR/DVD set up. I can’t imaging that the school would leave expensive electronic equipment in a public lounge even if it was locked down.
My guess: Les stole the TV to pay back Mr. Gray. He used Piro’s scarf – or one like it – to get Piro blamed for it. Les is not the brightest. Piro would not steal something and leave his scarf.
“……….My guess: Les stole the TV to pay back Mr. Gray. He used Piro’s scarf – or one like it – to get Piro blamed for it. Les is not the brightest. Piro would not steal something and leave his scarf…………”__________________________________________________________________________________________________________well that’s an interesting thought except that there has never been, to date, any overlap between Les and the Fuse scene and life at Mooney Uni. So that could be a stretch. That said, I too never thought that Piro had any mean streak or criminal intent. But he may have been sleeping in the lounge over the holiday break.
Most probable story: Piro was watching an old classic movie and the TV stopped working. Piro took it for repair/replacement. Bernice – having found Piro’s scarf – confronts him about a theft. Ultimate embarrassment for Bernice – but maybe Piro has a chance to be kind to her.
I’m also not all that happy that the editorial ‘toons are combined with the entertainment ones in the alpha pages. Since I don’t know all of the editorial cartoonists, I can land on a political one when I’m looking for escapism…
To add to Bernice’s confusion, I’m reading the same strip of the 11th, on the 12th! did Piro also steal it? is anybody else having a “ground hog day” experience, like me?
Another annoying little change is replys to comments don’t show unless you click on reply, apparently. Sooo…@31768— You’re still looking at the 11th’s strip, despite GoComics’ claim that it’s updated. The also show that a whopping 22 strips have been updated today. Maybe they now have to copy them by hand.

It is evident that not only did they steal the TV, but they also stole Piro.

Keen-eyed RA Inspector Bernice on her appointed rounds immediately sees the Important Evidence. The scarf! The scarf, Boss!
Luckily, civilian Dez is along to notice that the TV is missing!
Geez, Bernice! Do you think you might have overlooked something?

Ok, it’s a Three’s Company plot – they’re going to think Piro stole the TV when he didn’t. Hijinks ensue.
By the way, when a place is burglarized, you know. You don’t walk into an apartment that looks perfectly normal except for a missing TV.
