This is why I never got to see “Bozo The Clown” live in-studio. :(

One concert I’d like to see is John Denver, but he died 20 years ago. It would be nice if there were a tribute concert for him I could attend. If that’s not going to happen, I could always go to his memorial park in Aspen, Colorado.

    Some lead; some follow.

Some strike out on their own.

(Later groups sometimes find their unidentified bones.)

A smart phone. An actual smart phone. And being used to connect to the internet. Not just as a phone.

Nobody can accuse the Evans team of being lost in the 80s in todays strip.

I wonder what other suggestions Tara may have……………..and without Borenice to shoot anything down, I wonder how far and wild they will go.

Interesting how Tara is playing out rope and getting Luann all pumped up.

If she first gets her frustrated enough, she then may be able to talk Luann into going to some event or activity that’s not so well-advised.

As a character, I’m really liking Tara. As a reader, I’m hoping much comes of her character – and her friendship with Luann. // That said, as many of you have noted, she comes with a lot of baggage: Our introduction to her was as a barracks thief. Those of you who say to avoid her at all costs, your arguments are not without merit!

    From yesterday:

@Caldonia: Seriously, there’s no real difference between Tara and Pru. And Luann would have no idea what sex and drugs are

You’ve mentioned Tara being like Pru on a couple of occasions recently. I do see a couple of similarities, but some real contrasts as well.

    Similarities:

    ● They are both high-energy, and perpetually upbeat. We’ve never seen them really upset.

    ● My gut feel is that Tara is attracted to other girls, whether she might be bi or whatever. If true, that gives her another commonality with Pru.

    Differences:

◆ From all we’ve ever seen, Pru is immaculately honest, and would not want to rip off anyone. But Tara, very recently, stole a dorm TV and broke into a vending machine. Even if she’s now a little remorseful, that’s hardly like Pru at all.

◆ Pru is very empathetic, seeming to care about everyone, from Luann to Leslie Knox, and has tried to counsel them wisely. Tara, on the other hand, seems stealthy and manipulative, more likely to use friendships for selfish ends.

◆ There’s no evidence that Pru is interested in drugs, and I don’t think she’d joke flippantly about them as Tara does. Tara is more likely into some of that.

That’s as I see it, anyway.

Many concerts are “Sold Out” because scalpers both corporate and individual buy up tickets in advance when they think an event will be popular. I was told that some venues let the scalpers return them shortly before the event if it doesn’t look like a sellout (why is that?). They said to me that the best time to go to the venue to get a ticket is right before the concert. Hit or miss. Ticket scalping is not an honorable way to make money.

Tara & Luann will wind up in a coffee house listening to some scraggly guy with a guitar and a hat out for tips playing blues songs, one after another after another (same changes). They’ll get bored. Then some guys will hit on them. And thus the story begins (or ends).

The last concert I went to was Rush in 2015. It was the first time I’d ever seen them in concert and they didn’t disappoint! I’m glad I made it, because it doesn’t look like they’ll be touring again.

I’m beginning to see how some of the loose ends of the recent assorted episodes are beginning to come together. 1) When Shannon was playing dress up with Luann and Pro, we saw evidence that Luann does indeed have several items of upscale lingerie. 2) The two figures in the last drawing look strangely familiar like Jack and his buddy who was Bernice’s bowling date. I recall Jack has connections with the local music scene, a friend who has a band. Now if his buddy should just happen to be smitten by Tara, Bernice would probably have a hissy fit. And Tiffany is already ticked that Jack is paying attention to Luann. We have some serious kindle for a raging fire. 3) If Mr Gray invites his sister Ann to the next family dinner where Tiffany shows up, we have players lined up for some serious drama probably coming to an interesting climax at whatever the event is that Pru scheduled for the theater.

Times like this, I’m reminded of Howie Mandel’s approach to getting out of going to the mall with his wife. Probably works in a physical line or waiting area, as well. Either that, or you could (tongue in cheek alert!) calmly bring up to someone in the vicinity something completely random…something like: “Hey….I just ate a peanut!”. See how quickly the wait goes down from the ones who “suddenly changed their mind and come back, later”, or how much the appointment/available openings will now stay open…

    -

Of course, if it’s trying to get in on an online transaction, well… you should’ve just opted for the “super expensive platinum internet upgrade option”…

It’s Friday, one more day before Sunday foible day. Will Tara spill over until next week? They will either have something come up they can go to, or we will be left hanging; I don’t think Tara is a dangerous or bad person though, just young and making a mistake type situation. I definitely think there is no connection with Ann or Les though. Les does have problems from his past, which maybe he could be working out in Luannverse time and manner, and Ann is just evil. Tara is neither problematic in terms of past, so far as we know, nor evil. Just more willing to take chances, have fun, and clearly she and Luann like each other.

Wonder if Tara will have an email about the upcoming “lingerie show” at the Fuse. If so, she will know the truth and will probably not realize that Ann lied her way into the place. And ask Luann to join her.

Here’s a thought: Luann and Tara could go and check out some local bands – there’s bunches of ’em – and seldom do they sell out shows. Many of them are really good, do original stuff, covers, etc. (I think someone here mentioned it some time ago).

And for a tie-in: Have Pru book some local bands for gigs at The Fuse. Luann and Tara are happy, doing new stuff – Pru’s happy, finding job success and staying busy – Frank and Nancy are happy business-wise!

Everybody’s happy! – (except maybe Bernice, as she likely doesn’t participate).

    To be off-topic for a moment…

The world of country music has suffered a tremendous tragedy.

Troy Gentry, one half of the country duo Montgomery Gentry, has died this afternoon in a helicopter crash.

    He will be missed.
