Has it really been that long? I first saw the “Shoe” strip in my teachers journal (newspaper) in maybe the late Eighties (Education – Journal of the NSW Teachers Federation).I lost sight somewhere in the late Nineties as my teaching priorities changed. With many thanks to the internet I have been able to catch up with one of most favourite strips.Thank you firstly to Jeff, as creator of of the Shoe strip, and to both Gary and Suzie for keeping the strip (and Jeff’s memory) alive.I have a stable of comics that I read daily via the web. Shoe sits there at the top with good ol’ Charlie Brown.Happy Anniversary, many thanks.
I saw this comic in the paper on the way to USAF basic training. And I have been following it ever since. Two of my cherished possessions are a letter from Jeff Mac and my autographed copy of “How next years do you get in baseball.” I had written Jeff shortly before I retired from the USAF about the date of SHOE debuting and my entering the USAF. I sent along the copy of the book and asked if he would sign the book for me. He not only signed it but drew Skyler in a CUBS uniform in the book. It is very special to me. I hope that Jeff watched last years World Series and the CUBS win from his perch above. Many, many thanks from this SHOE fan.

Congratulations, it is by far my favorite comic strip. I love the way SHoe is drawn which is most of the enjoyment for me of any strip.
