Ah, a potential new stepmother. Guess she is used to having her dad all to herself and hates to lose his attention and spoiling – of which he has passed over to his new girlfriend. He probably figured he’s raised Tiffany and she is now an adult and in college so it is now his turn to have a life of his own. And…Ann Eiffel? It seems to correspond to the other arcs and why she made a sudden re-appearance. Talk about YIKES! Ann and Tiffany! Ohhh…that’s what I call drama!

Okay. It is with Borrowed “Humility” that I Mordock999 being of Sound(?) Mind and Body, do hereby admit in front assembled Witnesses, that I was (DEEP BREATH) Uncharacteristically “Wrong” about the Reasons Why Tiff was Depressed. I also Reluctantly acknowledge that ARGY-BARGY also Affectionately Known at DREAMER, over at the Acramax Comics Site, was (COUGH, GAG) “Right.” Innkeeper! A Flagon of His favorite Beverage for Mr Bargy, there!

Now, it seems that Tiff and Gunth have something in common now: Their parents are dating someone They don’t like. Will Tiffany be taken to task for being “Sullen and Angry” like Gunther was?

And Who Is the “Sleazy, Back Stabbing Manipulative Witch?” Some “Folks” over at Acramax are already saying its Ann Eiffel.

Enough for now. Innkeeper? A Plate of (BARF) “Crow” for me Please!

If Ann Eiffel is Dad’s GF, that would explain her high end wheels. And the “lingerie show” is likely something seeking investors (pyramid scheme). Tiff did meet AE when AE was working at Weenie World. Tiff is gonna lose it when she sees Dad holding AE’s hand and getting smooched.

    Worst (character) case scenario.

Dad knows Eiffel is a sleeze.Eiffel knows dad plays around.

The so called Fuse lingerie party is a bachelor’s party sans wedding.

Dad gave Ann Eiffel the going rate money to rent the Fuse. He doesn’t know that Eiffel is sleezy enough to pocket the difference.

Dad doesn’t know that Ann Eiffel is sleezy enough to want to blow up Kafe Kablooie.

Dad doesn’t know Eiffel doesn’t care if he gets caught in the blast.

Enough wild speculation to justify my avatar icon?

Considering Gunther’s huge hangup on his Mom, and Tiff’s similar situation – Gunth & Tiff should run to Vegas, get married, and try living together on their own. If it doesn’t work – well – lots of marriages didn’t work…

For those who are assuming that Ann Awful is the woman Tiffany’s father is seeing; Tiffany just said that he took this new woman with him on the yacht trip that Tiffany used to go on. If Daddy dearest and his new nearest were on a yacht trip, she wouldn’t have been in town to book the Fuse for her ‘lingerie’ show, would she? Maybe Daddy’s new girlfriend will turn out to be Mr. Gray/Grey’s ex…

The way the arcs have been going, it’s quite natural for many of us to presume that the GF is likely Ann Eiffel. However, there’s a least a slight possibility that it’s not.

If the GF is not Ann, then rather than expecting another sinister “witch” character, my alternate guess is that it’s someone nice, who Tiff might even like as a stepmom.

My first guess, however, is still Ann.

My earlier comment is nowhere to be seen on the blog; my experience is that my profile will show it, but I can’t find it when I scroll down to it. As the Brits would say bollocks! I just want to summarize my observations: I think that the floozie is Ann Eiffel, I am not worried about any time issues, this is Luannverse. It ties together Ann and her machinations, and Mr. Gray, her brother, Les, her son, Mrs. Berger, Pru, the Fuse, and gives her a way to get revenge on TJ. There is probably a lot more, but this is such a dramatically obvious device, which of course means I am all wet!! (lol). Anyone see this coming?

So first, Tiffany was feeling ignored by all the boys at college at the end of spring semester. Then Daddy ignores her all summer. A huge blow to her big female ego. She now feels ‘replaced’ by someone she hasn’t even met, even though this woman could be a perfectly nice, normal person her Dad has started dating. Tiff will still hate her. And it would be perfectly appropriate for him date someone now that, in his mind, he thinks Tiffany is on her own in college and would have a life of her own by now. Lots of family mis-steps here, but that aside, Tiffany’s self esteem has suffered big time.

Interesting, but odd in some ways too:

    1. I have been under the assumption (may be wrong) that Tiffany’s Dad has been unmarried for some considerable length of time now. It seems surprising that this would be the first time he has “dated” another person. Theoretically, if he has been dating previously, I suppose Tiffany could have really “liked” the other girlfriends, but that does not seem likely.

    2. Many have suggested this “floozie” is Ann Eiffel. It is indeed a perfect fit for Tiffany’s description. However, for me it seems too damn convenient to be the story-arc reality that Greg has selected. So. I am not firmly on board thinking that it will be Ann yet.

    3. If it is Ann, and this is a way to merge the Tiffany issues arc with the Lingerie Party arc….. what nefarious purpose is the Lingerie Party? I was assuming it was for quick and easy money of some sort. But, if Ann is “dating” Tiffany’s very wealthy father…. it seems like she would be not so inclined to risk her “sugar-daddy” relationship with him to pull a scam.

    4. One final idea as well…. again, it seems likely that Tiffany’s father has been “single” for a long, long time, and so I have always imagined him having dated for a long time. So, my question is…. why has this new “floozie” so impacted Tiffany that she stress eats…. when none of the other dates have?

Hmmm… how about this…. what if somewhere down the road we see Tiffany’s Dad….. and find out that he is unknowingly Gunther’s Dad?!?!? Maybe He and Mrs. Berger (since we do not see any other relatives of the Berger family, perhaps Mrs. Berger just kept her maiden name and has let people call her “Mrs.” Berger all these years) were a high school “item” and never kept in touch? Maybe he did not even realize “Mrs.” Berger became pregnant?

Hah… I know this is about as likely as a turtle successfully crossing the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) during rush hour, but I thought it was strange and interesting since a few folks were suggesting that Mrs. Berger and TIffany’s Dad become an “item”.

    VERY COOL:

    THE SAME

    BUT OPPOSITE.

In Gunther’s situation his mother worked very hard to make sure he could have what he needed despite their not having much monetarily, but she also overcompensated for the missing father with a level of attention that was usually overprotective, and sometimes downright smothering. Still, she has always been there for him. He did not have monetary riches but he did have real interaction, parental love, and unwavering concern for his wellbeing.

In Tiffany’s case her father has been a no-show father except for their rare dedicated times together, the summer and holiday trips, which got cancelled for Tiffany this year, with her feeling replaced. Otherwise, he has thrown money at her instead. I vaguely recall a mall trip with Crystal in which Tiffany discussed exactly that, and if i recall right she also said that it led her to spend more because she knew it was all that she would get, and much later certainly she tried to help Shannon as a soul-mate who also was too used to a no-show dad.

So, both the father and Tiffany have had money all too intwined and confused with love, in her case because it was what she could get so at least it was a form of attention, though as attention and love themselves go money as a substitute for loving attention is ironically piss-poor.

No wonder Tiffany is so upset. Her mother is long gone, so having her father cancel one of few times together that she treasures must hurt to the quick, and with that parent-child interaction often using money as a stand-in for love she must be seeing him remove what little she gets of his attention and withholding his miserable expression of love (which would matter greatly when it is all she often gets). Her character must feel thoroughly abandoned.

    (Part 2 of 2)

We have seen how having a too-often no-show dad has affected Shannon’s behavior with acting out, and looking at Tiffany’s many times of also acting out for attention, have to wonder how many of those were not just for the local audience at school, but to make her father notice, and if her mother is in any way in the loop, even peripherally, to get her also to notice.

The character development in the Luann comic is EXCELLENT!

So is the contrast. On the surface what these characters are dealing with is the same, but the backgrounds make the situations simultaneously the opposite!

some interesting parallels; what jumps initially is that Tiffany has a father who normally has not ignored her, e.g. he takes her on trips so they do interact, up until now. Other Pitt characters (except Luann) have grown up in single parent households and yet we have felt sympathy toward Tiffany’s behavior and treatment of others because we thought she was ignored growing up. Now it looks like she really is spoiled. She didn’t get to spend her summer on a yacht so she eats herself into a blimp.

Problem with Tiffany’s dad’s floozy being Ann Eiffel … which is that Tiff has met Ann. In fact, Tiff was part of TJ’s plan to oust Ann from Weenie World several years back (which would be about a year, Luanniverse time … I’m thinking late 2012 in our timeframe).

Good thing Gunther showed up when he did. If she’d held in that rant any longer she would have exploded. Kind of nice to see fiery and feisty Tiff back, if just for a bit. She’s funnier than sad Tiff.

Strange that just last Saturday, as he was knocking on her door, Gunther was debating with himself about whether or not he was qualified to help her. As it turns out, he’s uniquely qualified.

Yes, life has been busy so i have not been on much recently. Sorry Luanaphile. It is mostly everyday needs that have to be tackled, but part of it is that two family members have had some major, positive life changes, a friend of mine won an award in epidemiology and survelience of emerging diseases, a friend of ours got a major computing award, and now a very longtime friend of Steve’s got a major award for his work in physics. So, life is busy, distracting, but good.

I doubt Tiff’s dad is dating Ann Eiffel. I think Tiff’s comments about this lady are rhetorical; she’s jumping to conclusions because she’s jealous. Her overblown response is meant to parallel Gunther’s anger toward his mother’s relationship with Mr. Gray; I think Gunther will remind Tiffany of how SHE encouraged him to be more accepting of Ma Berger’s desire to have a little love and companionship in her life.
