Unfortunately this is all too true. If you take a blood thinner you are more likely to have a bleeding episode, same for the diabetes pills. You hear the list of side effects and they are often similar to the symptoms of poorly managed diseases. The best one was for an ADHD drug that purportedly caused gynecomastia in teenage boys. One of the side effects of the hormonal changes associated with puberty is some breast enlargement (transient) in boys. Tends to be more enhanced in heavier boys and it seems that kids are getting heavier these days due to decreased activity and increased dietary intake. I am waiting for the lawsuits to appear charging that the nutritional supplements being pushed for underweight kids is the proximate cause of later obesity. The physician or dietitian should be the one to make the diagnosis of undernutrition, not the parents worried that their child is a runt.
I’ve seen bottom-sucking lawyer ads trolling for “victims”.
It’s like with stents.
So, you’re having a heart attack and your arteries are all plugged up solid with fatty deposits and you are about to die – but now that we saved your life, there are some side effects and you are suing your doctors who performed the life-saving operation and the company that provided the life saving insert?
