I will raise the question again: I thought Luann knew Ann Eiffel, and how awful she was/is? Maybe not? No reaction. My second thought are those chocolate treats have a little maryjane in them? Ann is behaving herself, like a regular kind of marketer.

Someone said a few days ago that Luann had met Ann before. Apparently though she doesn’t remember that meeting. I wonder if she’ll have an “aha” moment during the course of the evening… and if so, what will trigger it?

Clearly Luann forgot who Ann is, in other words, doesn’t remember her. She was not directly involved with the drama but surely she heard about it? She did meet Ann at Weenie World where she often ate with Bernice. Ann came to their table to demand that Brad return to work. Brad worked at WW and TJ was instrumental in getting Ann fired from her manager job, so I am kind of skeptical Luann really has forgotten about all that.

So it does look like a lingerie show. But with Ann, something shady has got to be in the works.

It would be out of character for Ann to do anything completely legit.

We are in and the show is up and running.

More than I expected.

And Ann Eiffel is selling cosmetics as well as lingerie.

Exactly the arc crossover I wanted and predicted.

Luann learned about Ann’s evil ways from Bernice and subsequently warned Brad not to go and work with her at Weenie World. As far as I can remember the two never actually met, and of course Ann has introduced herself as Miss Souffle.

Who will be modelling the lingerie? I hope it’s someone we know. It would’ve been the ideal job for Tiffany before she put on weight.

In Ann’s previous story arc, she managed Weenie World and showed herself to be a mean and spiteful hatebag. She made things bad for Brad and as I recall, he quit. Luann at that time referred to Ann as an ‘evil, horrid monster’. For her not to recognize Ann now is nuts; I expect she will remember Ann very soon.

Sure wish Greg would bring back Delta!

In regard to the ‘S’ and ‘L’ in ‘Souflee Lingerie’ nearly forming a $ (with just a bit of stretching), there’s actually a trend in the world of corporate logos to do a similar thing (some actually purposed by the company, some just perceived that way by the public). On YouTube, you’ll find many interesting ones (including one unintentional international one by CocaCola)!

Pipe and coffee break commentary for today:

Hmm… kind of a hum-drum, mid-week comic for the arc. This comic presumably is setting the stage for a potential BIG issue perhaps by Friday or Saturday. But, if this is setting the stage…. it is REALLY cloistered and I haven’t a clue or idea on what may transpire.

It is sort of interesting that the “treats” Ann has offered appear to be hand cream samples, perfume samples, and brownies. I do not know if I would have called hand cream or perfume a “treat”…. so, might it be that Dez and Luann used salable product they were not supposed to use? And, perhaps it is VERY PRICEY stuff, and will end up giving Ann the excuse to cause a ruckus? This seems far-fetched to me, but…. it is the odd choice of calling hand cream and perfume a “treat” that made me imagine this possibility.

It is kind of interesting the choice of “treat” each gravitated towards. Perhaps a psychologist would be able to gain insight about each characters personality? Perhaps Dez is all about “comfort”, Luann is all about “her impression to others” and Tara is all about “personal pleasures”?

Reading today’s strip, I’m reminded of the Private Snafu cartoon on booby-traps… can’t imagine why…

Random thought—taking a second look at panel 1, Ann’s pose and facial expression looks an awful lot like Toni (ignoring the hair color of course). Could they be related? If so, would Les know that?

A few quick things about Luann either recognizing, or NOT recognizing Ann E.:

1. Ann E. turned only briefly to see the group, then turned away – and walked some steps away to set the treats down. (Note the distance difference between the group and Ann from Panel 1 to Panel 2),

2. Ann did not acknowledge herself by her actual name to them, and

3. When you are in a completely new/different setting, you can get easily distracted, or just plain NOT recognize someone you’ve seen from your past in a brand new place. This has happened to me at times when I’d see someone I’ve met only occasionally during work-related stuff, but I’d then see the person at a store, etc. on a weekend. I’d vaguely know him at the store, but it took some time to connect those dots back to the initial meetings. Once I did, it all comes together in an, ‘Oh, YES!! How are you!!’, way.

I’m trying to not note the young adult attitude/attention span thing, but that can happen, too! :)

1. I was hoping they would invite Toni. Oh, well, maybe next time if the clothing does not fall apart?

2. Luann’s paint swirls made me wonder about two things. Will she no sooner get her room done than Tarra invites her to share an apartment, OR will Bernice involve the others in a psych project in which the colors of the swirls are periodically changed to see how long it takes Luann to notice? Hey, don’t laugh. When my father shaved off his beard it took my mother about a week to realize it was gone, which she realized while complaining about it to two of their friends who kept giving strange looks.

Oh, and if i recall right, only Brad, Toni, and Shannon had met Ann before, right?

Thinking back on Ann’s arcs – I know she got upset when she wanted a relationship with someone and it wasn’t reciprocated – and she acted out in the worst possible manner. But was there ever actually anything about her trying to scam people out of money?

Does anybody love “Lady Lingerie”? Doesn’t anybody recognize Lady Lingerie as being Annie Awful? Or are those lotions, potions, and snacks all liberally laced with Blows Your Mind?

I get the feeling that Tara does not have a lot of cash flow. Anything that doesn’t have to be purchased (even underwear) will not be, and free food is scarfed up.

Somehow, I have a feeling that this story line is going to be a real bomb and characters are going to be badly affected. Bernice and Mr. Gray may have to go to the jail to bail them out.
