For many years as kids, my brother and I needed to allow for Random Acts Of Fiat when playing board games. Fiat would almost always flop right in the middle of the game board at some point during play. Made for some fun games.
I always love seeing Elvis with his glasses!! " intellect, skill and avoiding Lupin" perfectly said! I love all the boys, but Lupin is my favorite, he’s so much fun, got a great sense of humor and adventure. now, if I could just find a man like that….
Yeah, that’s me – down on the floor, reaching under the sofa, groping for whatever has been swatted under it. Actually I’m usually looking for things under the sofa, the chest, the corner cupboard, the sideboard ….
My babies swat things under the refrigerator and under the stove. To retrieve them I need to move the fridge and pull out the bottom drawer of the stove. And, it maddening to try and get that drawer back. I am always amazed what’s under there.
Clearly Lupin would be totally awesome at wizard chess :)
When we were much much younger, my brother and I used to play the board games like Monopoly and “Life” with one eye always open for our cat Missy who loved to do a dash and grab of the pieces
Best wishes to every orbster this lovely Sunday! Warm wishes & bumps for a new week of adventure, discovery, happiness, and LOTS of furry friendship! >^.,.^<
Among the things the late Fafnir kept in her hope chest under the sofa were the small swords from the knights in an antique Chinese chess set we had in the living room. It took skill for her to do this, she picked the swords up in her teeth usually without disturbing the board and carried them away. Georgia knows whereof she speaks here – cats and chess!
I’ll bet the boys would prefer if chess was a pie instead of a game. ;) I know that’s the way I like chess! :D https://images.food52.com/WOilOFXUb47n0yY5X7dlBTDI-sk=/753×502/a38d55e1-e09b-4758-b301-449967da4fee—buttermilk_chess_pie.jpg
Meav’s job is to help read the comics on the computer every day and help with the comments and to help read the Sunday paper once a week. I don’t think I could do it without her. All her help has caused me to learn endless patience. I have gotten good at belly rubs so I can see the screen though.
Happy Bunday and Funday and warm orb nudges to all of you! Isn’t Lupin just too adorable in panel 7 with his little fangs hanging out? And unflappable Elvis in panel 8, reading the chess rules. Pucky is adorable, no matter what he’s doing.

I can be sitting there doing nothing and no cats. The moment I pick up a book or my crochet, I have cats. The best cat calls I’ve learned is these two items. Love Lupin’s fangs!
Years ago we started building a model railroad display in the dining room. The old cat wasn’t interested. A kitten came to live with us, and thought the moving train was so much fun! Kitten won.
Asking for prayers, positive energies, pretty much anything, please. My boyfriend’s father is currently in ICU due to extremely low sodium levels – as in, if he had waited even another hour before taking him to the hospital,we would be planning a funeral! He improved some overnight, but he isn’t out of the woods, yet.
I know I am really late on this strip, but I laughed out loud so hard at this one. It has taken me the better part of two days to go from the beginning to this strip. I mean I had to look like I was a contributing member of this family by doing the cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing. And feed the cat, oh yes we can’t forget to feed Petey.

And the lesson here is to never try to do anything when cats are around. I’ve learned that the hard way, trying to read while Blossom is nearby…

Cat Chess, anyone?
Happy Funday, folks!

Anyone can see by the size of the game pieces this is a game meant for cats and people. And it looks like a certain element of “fetch” is involved.

A streak of white fur in a large brown hat
This fast white kitty runs and flies like the wind

Love the man’s left arm up and over his head. He seems annoyed and somewhat bemused.
Three against one though. Might be time to give in and put the game away… beware of the power that would give to the boys!
