Even if the package also contained something else important (i.e. for the boys), the box itself and the packing peanuts are the most important thing! Anything else can only be secondary.
I can’t remember the last time I got a package with packing peanuts in, they always have those air pillows in now. Mind my boys prefer finding packing paper in boxes as they love shredding paper and cardboard :)
I have to be very careful, I learned by accident that my cat Reilly (the blind one) will gobble up the biodegradable kind faster than I can get it away from him. Someone told me they are made of corn. It didn’t seem to mess him up, but I have no idea if he would eat a Styrofoam one or not.
@Lady Bri – I have to tell you a story about hubbys and allergies. Back in 2001, my hubby brought home a little 8-week old kitten that someone he knew was trying to give away (kitten was last one in his litter to find a home). About a couple of months later, hubby complained that kitten was making his allergies act up (teary eyes, some tightness in the throat, etc). I know people will think I’m awful, but at that point I had fallen in love with Whiskers and told hubby “you were the one who brought him home in the first place and now that I’ve fallen in love with him, you want me to get rid of him?!!?! I think you’d better find an allergist and get medicine and/or shots instead!” Well, Whiskers lived with us till he was 15 years old when I finally had to let him go to the Rainbow Bridge due to cancer. And hubby? He wound up taking medication to relieve his allergic symptoms and never complained about Whiskers after that!
I try to keep packing peanuts away from my cats. But they LOVE the big sheets of brown paper that many shipping companies have started using instead of foam and plastic.
My male cat loves sinking his fangs into rigid foam items. I don’t dare take my foam roller to the gym any more, because there’s a pattern of tiny holes all around both end.

Lupin’s face in panel two was one of my favorite panels from the old comics. Nice to see that Georgia was able to replicate the magic!

The only thing worse than the pervasive presence of those packing peanuts is Easter basket grass!

Cats are naturally attracted to styrofoam caterpillars.
And vice versa.

Gives new meaning for the phrase, “Will work for peanuts.”

The great thing about peanuts is, even after the humans try to sweep them up, there will always be a few around to find and play with.

Opening a box that has shipping peanuts is like when Captain Kirk opens the bin full of Tribbles. They just keep pouring out.

Styrofoam “peanuts” are the worst. They follow the cats around by using static electricity.
