“Given all that history, it sure is odd that no one recognized her, since she’s been doing those lingerie parties for weeks, huh?”“Yep, sure is!”“Yep, really odd!”
The posse is forming. Please don’t go gallop, gallop, convince Tiffany’s Dad and arrest Ann. We need more interesting. One possible scenario: Tiff’s Dad was supplying the real product for Ann to distribute – and Ann was switching on him. That would cool his fever. Nevertheless, I want Ann to get away – so she could show up again and surprise us down the line.
It bothers me Luann did not recognize Ann Eiffel. She saw her at WW – saw her heckle Brad for “goofing off” on the job while talking to Luann and Bernice and when Toni came in to visit.
Lets set some things straight. Bernice’s comment was not meant as a mean comment on Luann’s bra or breast attributes; rather it was stated to say that the lingerie party and the bra and stuff from it was fake. So Bernice haters you have been shown up here jumping to an unwarranted conclusion. Second to those who wondered how Luann could not know Ann when she met her, Brad had worked for Ann Evil, not Luann, and Bernice never went to the lingerie party remember? She thought it was a waste of time. Brilliant, and obviously planned ahead. Now, as I said the posse is going to come to the rescue. Not in my house Ann Evil!!!
I guess Evans wants to make sure we understand that her name of “Eiffel” was a name chosen specifically because it was close to the word “Evil.” Thanks for letting us know Evans. I never would have guessed.
Oh by the way, I think Bernice Halper’s last name was picked because it was close to the word “helper.” Maybe Evans can confirm that in an upcoming comic strip punchline.
If this is in fact the morning after the lingerie party…
And if Ann Eiffel did indeed leave in a huff to go squeal on Tiffany, leaving her phony Souffle Lingerie behind…
Then what happened to the fake lingerie?
Did Les and Tiffany leave it at the Fuse, leaving one of the other Fuse employees to find it this morning and wonder what’s going on, or…
Did Les and Tiffany take the fake stuff with them with the intent of either taking it to the police, or confronting Ann with it in Tom Ferrel’s presence?
Could that explain why Tiffany shoved the envelope and its quickie explanation under the door, rather than taking time to explain and go over the evening’s events with the other girls?
Let’s take a step back. It’s OK for Tiffany to expose a crooked lingerie scam although it would be a good idea to involve Frank and Nancy. It’s OK for her to warn her father that the woman he’s dating is a crook although Tiff’s motives aren’t exactly selfless. Tom Farrell has always spoiled her rotten (money-wise at least) and Tiffany would be jealous of any woman (nice or nasty) who caught her father’s eye. Tiffany has done a good thing in getting Ann to return the money she took from Luann, Dez and Tara. She deserves their support and friendship. However, Tom Farrell’s love life is his business and nobody else’s. Tiff can warn him but has no right to expect him to break up with the exceptionally good-looking woman he’s dating. Luann, Dez, Tara and Bernice have no rights in the matter whatsoever. Tom’s reaction in cutting Tiffany’s allowance is perfectly understandable. Tiff still won’t be starving (unless she chooses to go on some silly crash diet). Presumably Tom is also paying for Tiffany’s extra counselling – which she badly needs. He should also have given her more of his time and affection, but he should have made that change years ago. Tom Farrell is not a particularly good father, but he is not some dark villain. He deserves his own love life with the woman of his choice. Maybe Ann will make him happy – stranger things have happened!
I agree with an earlier post. This looks like the other ladies may be joining Tiff’s posse to bring Ann down. That would be a good thing. We still have to figure out why Tiff is sipping notes and recovered $$$ under the door, though. We’ll see.
A somewhat bland rehashing of the story line (arguably to clue Luann in, but probably just to keep occasional readers up to snuff). However, some thoughts:
1) If Luann is remembering the “Wienie-Gate” incident, I am thinking that she was likely at WW at one of the times of that part of the story line and saw Ann there. I am not sure if anyone can confirm that or not. But, it seems I recall this in my muddled memory.
2) If Luann did meet Ann during the intensity of “Wienie-Gate”, it would seem like she would remember her and would have recognized her while at the SL event…. but because she did not, perhaps Luann had not seen her at WW, but only heard a rendition of this from Brad?
3) It seems likely that Tara will end up coming over now also to get her refund. So, what will the four of them now do? Will they focus entirely on the Ann aspect of this story…. or will they actually focus on the part of Tiffany’s note talking about her dad (Tom-Cat)?
4) To me it seems the crossroads will be either a) the foursome may be more “gossipy” driven and focus on the Ann part of the story, or b) the foursome may be more “empathetic” and focus on the Tiffany/Dad part of the story. It is likely both aspects will remain to a degree, but I suspect that one aspect will be emphasized over the other.
For me…. I am hoping that the “Ann” aspect diminishes, and the focus is deeper towards the “Tiffany/Dad” aspect.
I’m hoping Bernice’s “rational” obsession will kick in with a plan to call either the cops or the DeGroots (or both) while the evidence is still behind locked doors at the Fuse.
Also, I’m left somewhat hanging regarding Simone – did she simply ignore the wee-hours phone call where something was obviously wrong on the other end? She definitely heard, “Stop! This ends now!” and if Ann did not immediately disconnect, she at least heard, “I’m done with your accusations and threats!” What did she do? Roll over and go back to sleep?
I forgot Ann was Brad’s boss at Weenie World. Brad has come a long way – from slinging hot dogs to firefighting. I wonder if Brad and Toni will have a baby or adopt the niece.
It’s time to shut Ann down for good. Tiff did get the money back, but now it’s up to Luann, Bernice and Dez to show that evil woman they mean business.
Above, dlkrueger33 started a thread which turned into a discussion about Ann as a recurring villain vs. a constant villain. FOR THIS REASON ALONE, I believe that Ann will not marry Tiff ‘s father. As I see this comic strip, it seems focused on the character development of a rotating cast of characters. Bringing Ann on as a constant villain would fundamentally change the nature of this strip. I don’t think Evans wants to go there. I hope not.
This is a hard lesson for Tiffany and let down by her dad. He has never been there for her but he is there for Ann who is merely a girlfriend. I would be so happy if Ann actually robs Tom blind and flees…and Tom comes to Tiffany to cry on her shoulder and Tiffany shrugs it off and says, “I told you so. But you still owe me allowance. So, go get busy and make a big commission.”
FINALLY! – Luann and Bern finally learn Madame Souffle is Ann Evil Eiffel!Retribution for Ann Evil Eiffel is about to come down by the front end loader full!
I didn’t think that Dez and Bernice knew about Ann being Les’s mom prior to the lingerie party. I guess that information was relayed from Tiff (to Dez and Bern) between the time she met up with Les at the Fuse (the time that she found out) and the evening of the event.
Ann Eiffel: a delightfully evil character. Long ago, I started calling her (inter alia) Annie Awful. Now, all the pieces are starting to come together, and Luann and Bernie are calling her “Ann Evil.” Okay, ladies; fetch the torches and pitchforks; it’s time for some Rough Justice! Don’t forget to run over Tom Farrell, too….
Apparently none of these young women can sustain a relationship with a member of the opposite sex (sorry Pru). So instead of spending their time plotting pointless juvenile schemes to break up Tom and Anne, which probably ain’t gonna happen, at least not for any of these reasons these little vixens think, maybe they should be asking themselves “What does Tom find in Anne that has him so besotted?” It might just enlighten Luann, Dez, Bernice, and, of course, Tiffany in the ways of the world.
