Mom: We'll pick up Grandma on the way to the restaurant. Alice: She's not bringing Big Shirley, is she? Mom: Petey, hold Grandma's dish for her, please. Grandma: I don't like restaurant stuffing so I made my own. Petey: Ew. Why do I have to hold it? Mom: Petey. Alice: Is it the stuffing with dog food in it? Mom: Alice.

You notice Mom’s not answering their questions?

Grandma appears to have some peculiar preferences, if Alice is correct. –In which case, I’d agree with Petey: ew!

Good Lord. Drop Grandma off at a rest area; let her share her stuffing with the squirrels. Pick her up after the Jets game?

That’s a myth, there are a lot of things people can eat (Campbell’s soup, for example) that are cheaper per meal than canned dog food. Old people eating dog or cat food is just an urban legend invented by certain left-wing politicians to advance their own agendas.

“Old people eating dog or cat food is just an urban legend invented by certain left-wing politicians to advance their own agendas.”
Oh, so it’s like the flip-side of all those Welfare Cadillacs?

Hey, not all that much legend as some might think.
Some 30 years ago when I lived in Portland, OR I shopped at a discount grocery store under the bridges in a neighborhood of tenement housing. One elderly gentleman ahead of me in the checkout line had a number of cans of dogfood in his cart with little else. The clerk commented “Well, it looks like your little dog is going to eat well.”. The elderly customer’s reply was “I don’t have a dog. No dog will get this. It’s mine”.
People do what they feel is necessary to survive, and are on the most part thankful . No where that good in 3rd world countries.
And by the way, I’m not saying this in the defense of any left wingers. I am boastfully extreme right. But sadly the left wing politicians do use stories like these as a ploy for their OWN benefits. Sad.

Actually, Grandma may be in for a rude awakening - most restaurants will NOT allow “outside food” to be brought in at all. Health department rules or potential liability issues.

I wonder why mom gets to drive in a regular-looking car and dad gets to drive in a toy.
