I have a survey question for today. I usually try to not make the questions specifically about the original strips, but I am making an exception today. I figure most people here have read through the old strips, it is highly recommended. So my question today is what original strip that hasn’t been redone yet are you looking forward to seeing. For those who haven’t read all the strips be warned:
Haha! As I’ve mentioned before, the meanest, most unruly, bad-tempered kitty who’s name is Tinkerbelle and is the apple of my parents’ eyes, gets to sit and dine on the table as much as she pleases! The Boys must not be doing something right.
There is something, some gene or some dark memory in cats that has not gone away – of long ago days when the Egyptians revered cats as gods. They have never forgotten. And every once in a while, they expect to be treated with DUE REVERENCE!
No cat does righteous indignation quite like Elvis :) I mean he’s always perfect, he’s always right … how can the People possibly not understand that the boys are allowed on the table.
I have long since given up trying to keep my boys off the table, they stay off the counters unless they’re pursuing a fly so I will take that small victory .. you’ve got to pick your battles :)
Good morning and happy Caturday, orbsters and orbabies! Yum Yum knows she is allowed on the table if it is up against the wall. When we pull it into the middle of the floor, she knows the table is sacred and taboo because people will be sitting around it, eating and then playing euchre. On another note, Paul’s tests went well yesterday, we have a few days off and then we will be back at the hospital again for more tests. We have a coordination meeting scheduled for June 13, and hopefully can start scheduling his radiation and chemo then. Thanks to everyone who has been rooting for us in this trying time.
I reached a compromise with my calico, Ruby. She could sit in my lap while I ate, but if she started to raise her head to the table I bopped her nose. She didn’t like that and generally behaved quite well.
Py, The Imperial went anywhere he pleased (as you can tell looking at my profile pic) Scooby never gets on the counter, although he is currently asleep in the middle of my dining room table which we never eat at. Dinner is a toss up, one of us is usually balancing our plate on the broad back of TD, depending on which one of us he decided to grace with his large ginger self
With 5 of them it is a losing battle. The understanding (mostly) is that they lay just out of paw reach of any plate, platter or bowl.
Several times per meal a tentative paw is stretched out to touch the edge of the dish. The paw is firmly tapped and deeply offended glares are exchanged.
All my cats are allowed on the dining room table whenever they please. They even have a bed on the table to look out the rear bay window at the squirrels and birds. I however never eat at the dining room table so this isn’t an issue at my house. If I ever dicide to use it as a place to eat again there may be territory wars though.
Saxon is pretty good about staying off the table – or at least he’s good at not getting caught. Sandy will climb up and look straight at us while doing it. She’s a bit of a little madam.
Our 5 are never allowed on the kitchen table or counters. They understand this well about the counters. I never see them on the table. But somehow the table grows tufts of fur….

Such injustice! All cats should be allowed on the table! At least, Bagheera always thought so. :P

Pucky’s toga is amazing – it shows his chest-spot! And, of course, another Pucky chart!

Learn a bit of logic, woman!
Just because they’ve never been allowed on the table doesn’t imply that they should be forbidden from the table.

I note that the Roman cat on the chart is also wearing a toga, but not a wreath.

So Elvis thinks The Woman needs a “catattitude” adjustment?!
cat19632001 over 6 years ago
Puck better watch his laurel wreath or Elvis might eat it.

So I take it that in the last panel the Woman is lifting and removing Elvis – yet again – from the table.

The People need to watch the table closely to make sure that white Lupin in a white toga isn’t sitting on it.

In Ancient Egypt, cats laid on the table while their human slaves sat on the floor, feeding them.
Why have humans forgotten this? Cats haven’t.

OMC whats the point of being able to jump so high if we cannot be allowed on tables!

That they even have such rules just proves humans are dumber than other mammals.

Oooh! Georgia should have written the date in Roman numerals — V — XXVI ! Maybe the editors won’t allow that, though.

Elvis: You mean “…LAY down on their dinner…” If they LAID down on their dinner it would mean they placed tiny feathers from ducks or geese on it.
