That’s okay. I’ll take the very remote possibility of nuclear war over the pernicious effects of The News. And I’d welcome the meteor. Maybe whatever evolved afterward would have no need for The News.
Avatr, Ok two problems with that. First, an illegal, by definition, has no “fair share of the American pie”. We baked it, so it’s ours. If we choose to share it, that doesn’t negate the fact that it’s ours. Second, and more importantly, the Dems are worried about just about everything happening in this country at this time. They would have more intelligent ways to deal with it. But, as soon as you put the word “too” in your argument, you are admitting that it is Trump’s mess. If your best argument for supporting Trump is that the Democrats are awful too, maybe you need to rethink your support.
How do I find a peaceful meadow when my favorite cartoons are becoming political too! (Not only this one, but many others are not able to escape the gravitational pull of today’s black-hole of politics. So many regular cartoonists are feeling compelled to raise their voices.)
society’s values started deteriorating from the 70’s under Peanut Farmer Carter and accelerated under the libs vitriol beginning with Bush. Trump has done nothing more than just to give a public voice to what right of center Americans have already been saying for years about the media and libs. Now that the right has someone who stands with them and is not silenced any longer, the left can’t handle it.
It already affected his meadow…the daisies went missing at the back of the field on the right even before the great KABOOM. (“Where’s the KABOOM? There was supposed to be a great KABOOM” – Marvin The Martian)
Damn, man, lighten up, comics are supposed to be fun. I know, let’s sing a song!If the button is pushed, there’s no running away,There’ll be no one to save with the world in a grave,Take a look around you, boy, it’s bound to scare you, boy,And you tell me over and over and over again my friend,Ah, you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.
We need to be part of the solution otherwise we are part of the problem. We need more good people who realize the need to get involved and do something and not expect others to take care of our problems. We need to take care of ourselves and of others. While a peaceful meadow can be thought of as a safe haven, a singular isolated peaceful meadow is not in a world of angst. We need to be aware of what is going on in our world and our communities. We need to be concerned and active and not "check out’ and function as an ostrich. Be concerned, active, and aware, Pig. That is what you need to know
So, Cartoon-Boy, what would happen if you combined [ideas stolen from—STRIKE THAT] inspiration from Bloom County (the meadow for meditation) and Lio (who tends to blow up nearby cities with his nuclear weapons from time to time)? Would it make Pig happy? Would it make crafting a Sunday strip without a pun easier? Well, would it?
