13! Wow Toni, you need to wise up! You should Look at Luann’s friend Fay!

Hmmm, the cycle continues. How old was Luann when she first started going totally bonkers over Aaron? Probably between 7 and 13. Now we see Shannon doing the Shannon, 21st century version, except that Shannon is a take-charge type, rather than a mooning over a boy, she has three, one of whom she fired over Fritos. She is 6 now. So? However at puberty things will go in all different directions. Still the cycle in Luanniverse goes on. In any event none of us will live long enough to ever see that happen, but if the stip is legacy it might happen.

@LUANN1212: But Shannon sure doesn’t act like she’s going ‘bonkers’ over any of these guys. More like she’s just collecting them…

I never had a boyfriend as a kid. Now, when I see kids Shannon’s age with “boyfriends” and “girlfriends”, I find it adorable – what an innocent time.

Maybe Riley only had thee $1.49 bag of Fritos, not the $3.50. The small bags go really quick (especially if you’re sharing).

I don’t think you get this conversation from most six year olds. Jonah probably leaves Shannon in front of the TV when they’re showing mostly soaps.

If Toni has a husband, why isn’t she sleeping with him and let Shannon take the couch. Brad and Toni should make the rules, not Shannon.

I think Toni is pretty accurate on this. Shannon will just slingshot into puberty and take no prisoners.

Now this IS interesting. First, We had Les actually talking to his Uncle Al, and now We have Shannon carrying on a conversation with Aunt Toni, without making her usual pushy toddler demands.

This is an important step in this Strip, IMHO. People actually talking “WITH” and not “AT” each other. Bravo, Karen! Hopefully this is a trend that will continue and MAYBE We can one day learn a bit more about Piro and Al Gray.

Oh, and Toni? Don’t forget to tell Shannon about the monster hiding under your bed, before you turn the lights out……, ;)

It’s refreshing to watch the last couple of strips based on the interplay between a child and a twenty something.

Could this all be leading up to Toni being pregnant?

Cute and sweet. I’m surprised that no one has commented that up until Brad and Toni getting married, Shannon had no role models of a healthy married couple. Sex and procreation aside, Shannon has no idea what marriage is all about.

I do hope ‘13’ is NOT when Toni met Dirk!! (I’m glad he’s reformed himself, and stuff).

Maybe this is the arc where we learn a bit about Shannon and her day to day life. We now know that she’s in school, so she’s at least 6 for 1st grade. What else can we learn?

Looks like we may meet some of Shannon’s “hobbies.” A day in the life of Shannon.

Toni is serving as a mother-surrogate and female role model for Shannon, something that Jonah can’t do.

To me, the irony is obvious. Fay is 13 and struggling with what to do about boys. Shannon is 7 and thinks she knows everything. Toni has gone through both stages and knows that both girls have no idea what the future holds for them.

I do like this arc. It’s refreshing after all the drama.

If Shannon makes it to thirteen, I’m sure she will know more about her three husbands by then….
