I wanna see a chart. Something like the relationship between mailman sightings and springloaded wooden birds. “Mechanical mailmen… real or just a Grimm fantasy? Story at 11..”

Puck is trying to outdo Elvis there, I think. His protests are very dignified!

OK, when toe beans are on a front paw that appears to contain a thumb, are they still toe beans or are the thumb beans?

Ok, so either Puck really likes the mailman or is really ticked the others don’t believe mailmen exist.

Right now I’ll settle for the mailWOMAN we’ve got delivering our mail at the moment. The last few mailmen and women before her were questionable as to when they would deliver. could expect the mail anywhere from 6 AM to 7:30 PM, or not at all. I mean I get not at all if there is no mail coming to the house (or if it’s a federal holiday). But to have them say “Oops, forgot to deliver your mail yesterday” speaks volumes. And not knowing when to expect the mail to show is just as frustrating.

Elvis? Did you hear what you just said? You said, “we were going to EAT its clock.” You were planning to eat a clock! Even other cats want to know, “Why?”

It will probably be easier to convince Lupin about the bird than to convince Lupin and Elvis about the mailman. The bird appears several times a day. We haven’t seen the alleged mailman once.

“Mailman – urban myth or urban menace?”

Jimmy was just finishing his prep work for the morning rush, and never failed to notice the good girl (or girls, as it will be now) when putting his menus together. “Who wants some nice pork sausage for breakfast?” Tre-C looked at Megan; “Do we give him the ‘hungry beg’ look now?” Megan shook her head; “No, he’s pretty good with his treats… just stand there and lick your lips a few times. Say something to him- not in Human, of course- he’ll get the message. He’ll probably act like he understands you, and then reply in baby talk. I love when they do that” Tre-C smiled; “Yeah- the old Man and Woman did that a lot. Kinda’ cute.” Sure enough, Jimmy looked at Megan with the little plate of sausage in his hand and said; ’Who’s my good girl? Who’s my good baby? Are you my good baby? My baby booboo!” Megan took a few steps toward Jimmy, then turned back toward Tre-c. “I think their brains go into a “low power mode” when they interact with us. I’ve seen them do the same thing with their dogs.”

I think we’ve found Pucky’s sore spot. Do not question the existence of Mailmen – even if you don’t actually get any mail.

Puck still looks a little shaken in panel one. Even Elvis appears a bit stunned. They overcame the vacuum cleaner but this bird knows.

You have to feel for Puck. There’s 24 chances a day to prove to Lupin that the evil bird exists but only one chance a day to spy the mailman.

Good morning and happy Thursday/Purrsday, orbsters and orbabies! Elvis’ eyes in the third panel and Puck’s wail of indignation in the last panel are priceless.

Paul and I are heading up to the cabin for 10 days. We’re leaving early tomorrow morning and will be home sometime on Labour Day. There’s no internet access up there, so I will be invisible.

Shaunnmunn, dear friend, keep well and come back to us soon. The mega-orb is sending loving hugs, bumps and boops your way.

Poor Puck! His emotions have really been getting a workout. Squinched-up face with fangs out twice in this story arc (albeit for different emotions).

I’m oh two minds about my mail lady. While I do like her and she is pleasant and loves the dogs, she does deliver the bills and takes away my money in the from of checks. So there is that.

I have a cuckoo clock, and I had two kittens. Somehow (this was 25 years ago) I trained them to leave it alone— perhaps by the same way I trained them to not climb the drapes: a smack on the rump and a loud NO!). The New Kitten, however, was less well-behaved, and I returned home one day to find the clock on the floor, and the chain in many pieces. He left it alone after that: lesson learned. And I got to practice my needle-nosed plier skills, putting the chains back together and feeding them through the gearing in the clock. One is forever 6" shorter than the other.

So I am thinking that Puck’s arm-waving in panel one is more sign language to Lupin? Also, I am wondering if in the last panel, if Elvis is giving the thumbs up to Lupin’s question about the mailman. Like, Puck can hear me denying it, but Lupin can see the thumbs up while Puck is too busy scrunching up his eyes in exasperation. . .

Poor wee Pucky, always a struggle to get the other boys to believe him about the mail man. I think Elvis and Puck will have to maintain a vigil so that Lupin can witness the bird for himself … and maybe bat at the pine cones some more :)

I hear that antique cuckoo clocks are an ancient feline delicacy, best served once it has crashed to the floor. To fully follow the tradition on how to eat this delicacy, it needs to be batted around whilst the owner of the clock screams in the background. Then the full taste of the antique cuckoo clock can be appreciated.

My mailman travels by car, leaving mail in every mailbox. Thanks to him we have met many of our country neighbors when we took misplaced mail to them. But we consider that a benefit. Our mailman is always on time with a smile and a wave. Thank you!
