Perhaps we finally get to see where Jack’s interests lie. If any interest exists.

Somehow, I don’t think that Luann will be the one who ends up with Jack. ✨

Luann looked as if she does not want the “we” be Jack and her, and thank goodness for Tara as the third wheel. A buffer.

Now Luann is sudden interested in “Monster Truck Rallies?”

Hmmmm. I wonder if any other Guy she’s ever dated had expressed an interest in going to one, would Luann had been so “willing” to go?

And while this “Threesome” seems to be okay with banding together to ‘disrupt class,’ there seems slight bit of reluctance to carry THAT on to going out, particularly with Tara. It’s almost as if she feels “threes a crowd” where a ‘guy,’ is concerned. Either THAT, or she doesn’t want to “share company.”

Will Tara bow out so Lu and Jack can be alone, or will she go with them? And if she DOES go, how will she react?

Why is it so hard for people to accept the idea that three people can be friends who hang out together? If it was three guys or three women, everyone would be yarping about their orientations.

Well at least they stopped doing the “you two have chemistry together” joke. It was a little wearying seeing the same basic punchline repeated over and over.

And the little Luann cried, “We We!” all the way to the monster truck show.

Luann’s gestures seem to indicate that the innuendos were continuing.

A threesome is a good way for these things to get started – however jealousies are inevitable and a pairing may happen eventually.

Three friends hanging out together, with no competition for attention. This can be a healthy young adult interaction/activity. Contrast with when Tiff and Luann are together with any guy.

Jack seems dumbfounded with the “we”, no matter if “we” pertained to two or three people. Once again, I wonder if Jack will be gay. He hasn’t had a girlfriend in the strip and the relationship between him and Luann seems to be platonic. Haven’t read one comment from him with a romantic overtone, nor seen a gesture like holding hands. We shall see….

This storyline hasn’t made me go “Whee!” so far, but I’m not pi$$ed off, so it hasn’t even made me go wee… whatever.

Jack has not only not joined in the double entendre joking, he seems to be unaware of it, even when it’s right in front of him.

I think Luann sees Jack as a friend, like Gunther. And that sound like fun!

Sometime, in the near future, someone will be reassuring Mr.Roper that Jack is gay!

I don’t know in college normally you hang around with those similar to you in interests, and usually it is a coed thing. That might be different with frat, or soros or with sport teams, in terms of comfortable easy coed type thing, but maybe not. Not that smoldering inside one could be dying to get next to one of coeds in your cohort, but don’t have the nerve to ask, or she maybe is dating, you think, a friend (yes this is personal experience, but I survived). I mean there aren’t any cuter young women that college coeds. They of course can and should hang around together, that is part of the college experience. But if Jack and Tara pair, Luann will be hurt IMHO. I still have odds in a Jack and Luann pairing because I think Tara’s intuition is correct, but part of the fun is waiting to see. Those who say three is a crowd, must have had miserable college experiences, sorry.

I don’t see ANY chemistry/sparks between Luann and Jack – none at all

Hmmm. This does not portend a good end. Someone is going to wind up with hurt feelings. if Jack pairs up with either one then the Three Amigos (Stooges?) become a couple and a third wheel. Luann will either come to realize she lost a boyfriend or Tara will have lost the companionship of the group.

Or they just might just get busted eardrums on Monster Truckville.

A “Monster Truck Show?!?!” To me, that seems like such a very strange venue for Greg to dream up to have these three go to, that I am at a loss on any sort of interpretation as to why. I guess there are a sizable number of folks who enjoy Monster Truck Shows, but they are most definitely outside of my wheelhouse. The noise alone would drive me to drink.

That said, it is interesting that Jack’s response to Luann’s suggestion is an open ended “we?” as if he wasn’t thinking anyone would go other than himself, whereas Tara’s response reads to me that she is presuming it is a “pair up” of either Luann and Jack or Luann and Tara, and Luann’s response is for it to be all three of them.

It may only be a pipe dream of mine, but I am hoping that if we are going to end up “Monster Trucking” that it is used for some other purpose than to just have revving engines and “big, beefy monster trucks” mounting and rolling over other vehicles used for more “inuendo” about whether Luann “lilkes” and wants to date Jack.

We’ll have to leave it to Greg to sort out whether Tara’s “interest” in Monster Trucks was an attempt to insert herself into Luann’s relationship with Jack. After all, Luann repeatedly made it a point she had no interest in him beyond friendzone.

One thing is sure. Greg and Karen are stirring up a witches brew for us in coming weeks.

Here, you have a situation where two people have been to and apparently enjoyed a “monster struck rally” being accompanied by someone who has never been before. So, what’s gonna happen if the THREE go together? As Sac indicated, you may have two folks enjoying themselves Immensely while the newcomer feels like the “Odd Woman Out.” Odd Woman in THIS case, being Luann.

Heh. First Tiffany, and NOW apparently Tara. If THIS doesn’t awaken any latent feelings Luann has for Jack then NOTHING will.

Curious point about Tara. She seems to be quite comfortable around EVERY Guy She gets around.

Leaving out the whole “Will they, won’t they?” between Jack and Luann, it’s good to see her laughing.

Monster truck shows are extremely loud. It is not a quiet, romantic date for two. It is something that groups of friends go to.

Luann obviously means that all 3 of them should go. You wouldn’t suggest going to an event right in front of a person who is not invited. That would be very rude.

It’s going to be Jack and Tara together as a couple. Notice how those two are positioned in the panels. It makes sense in the long run. Keeping Luann single gives greater storytelling options.

It just dawned on me that Monster Trucks & classmates aren’t the only thing Jack and Tara have in common. They are both members of the Nude Life Model club.

Luann does not need to fall in love Jack who dates “lots” of gals and plays that up. If they start dating, Luann will find herself jealous and insecure about Jack being around other gals….gals who throw themselves at Jack. At the core, Jack is a Bully and let’s not forget that -after time, he will revert to bad behavior and we don’t want there to be a domestic assault against Luann. It would be great if Luann could find an intellectual-minded, kind and caring guy. There are LOTS of guys who like dogs, BTW.

I suspect that long after I fade into the sunset, Luann will still be in pursuit of mediocrity, a cute boyfriend, and the meaning of life. She will meet her friends once a week for group therapy and lunch. Time, religion, and politics will never be mentioned. And, when the dust settles, they will all look back and realize that absolutely nothing ever happened.

All we need are Larry, The Ropers, and Mr. Angellino.

If Luann isn’t careful she will wind up pushing Jack and Tara together. They’d make a good pair, both posed nude for art class, both are fun loving extroverts and both follow their dreams. But I’d still like to see Luann and Jack try for something.
