I would think that there would be vendors at this show selling ear plugs as well as snacks in the lobby. If not, somebody is missing a major money making opportunity.
But then again, Jack being a gentleman should bought extra earplugs for his friends.
At any rate, folks should be happy that Lu is front and center in her own Strip for change. Let hope these three actually enjoy themselves, and a “green eyed monster” doesn’t rear its head……,
“Tales away from the shed” this week. Will Gunther end up cleaning up the mess? Will Irma bring the boys some cookies and milk only to discover something went horribly wrong with the social experiment? What will Jack think when he finds out that he has to sit next to Luann from six until eight o’clock, then Tara from eight until ten? Will Jack be amazed when both girls are able to help with his flat?
Finally, protowimp Gunther, amateur thug Les hour (two lonnnng weeks) is over, for now, and we get to some interesting people. Luann, who pays the bills, Jack, “Mr. Man” and Tara, ah, sweet, red-haired, adventurous pixie hottie. Should be interesting.
I didn’t see this as a date; I saw it as three friends going to a truck rally. You have to have at least a little bit of quiet time during a date, right, so you can figure out whether you have enough in common to want to keep a relationship going. When would there be any time for that with all truck noise?
Jack seems to be more excited about the monster trucks than he is in either of the young ladies with him. This may indeed turn out to be just pals hanging around together. Sorry ‘bout that, Luann!
That’s the San Diego Sports Arena in the background. It’s a card playing venue (Valley View Casino) that also hosts musical events… but not monster truck rallies, to my knowledge.
This a supposed to be a continuation of the chem lab arc where Tara was trying to convince Luann that she, Luann, had feelings for Jack beyond “best pals” status. Luann was trying (too hard it appeared) to deny that by playing it off jokingly. I get the feeling that Tara may have displaced Bernice as the go-to “gal pal” for Luann to interact with when discussing relationships. Remember that Greg chose Tara to motivate Luann to take the life art class where Jack was the model. Then nudged Luann into seeing Jack as dating material in the lab class. She seems to be a Luann catalyst in GnK’s mind(s).
So will we continue along a blossoming relationship path with the monster truck episode: With Tara fomenting a closer Luann/Jack relationship? I’d be surprised if GnK would surprise us with Tara coming out as competition for Jack’s affections. Or perhaps we’ll go spinning off into some other space-time! :o\
Such a relief!!! I was thinking we would watch Les and Gunther clean up this week.
Hopefully there will be earplug vendors for Tara. I can only IMAGINE how horrendously loud it is when such a display is INSIDE.
I am actually feeling very curious about how Greg is planning to have this “Monster Truck” event with the three of them proceed.
All sorts of interesting things can potentially happen. There are two things, however, that I hope will not happen:
1) Luann and Tara….. I hope that Greg does not have a story where the two young ladies both fawn over and attempt to garner the attentions of Jack, romantically…. and this leads to a jealous rivalry between Luann and Tara (like what happens between Luann and Tiffany).
2) I hope that Jack does not single out one of the young ladies preferentially over the other during this “triad” friendship focused event. If Jack becomes more enamored with either Luann or Tara, I hope he lets that information be relayed…. AFTER this event has concluded.
Other than the potential two items listed above, it seems very plausible that this week will end up being very fun, enjoyable, and filled with humor.
It’s been a while since I’ve been in college but would the exciting activity of choice in a Southern California university town be to go to a monster truck rally?
Is the comment function glitchy today, or does it just look that way on my screen? A little while ago I couldn’t see the cursor when I entered a comment. Now I have a cursor, but completed comments appear to have line breaks in the middle of words.
Will Gunther and Les ever get along? Will Irma and Mr. Grey find peace? Will Tiffany ever forgive Gunther? Will Ann Eiffel ever be found out by Tom? This and many more questions will be solved…maybe?
So maybe Jack gives Luann a nice kiss – and Tara slyly wanders off. An hour later, Luann sees Tara with a really hot guy and gets jealous. Real world stuff.
What a relief to be rid of Gunter and Les. I think we spent more time in their kitchen than we did for the whole Irma and Al wedding, including flight time.
If Luann really likes Jack she needs to date him without Tara along. And I suspect that the only reason Tara agreed to be the third wheel is because she also likes Jack. The friendship the girls have now could easily become a rivalry.

If these two girls were visiting Gunther, he would be frantically running back and forth to the bun warmer. We’ll go with the Monster Truck Show.

When going to a monster truck rally or certain churches, ALWAYS wear good earplugs.

I suggested that the truck rally was a device to drive the real story happening here — and you may have pinpointed what that story is.

A strange plot twist – Luann is on a “date” to a monster truck rally with two nude art models? Who would have expected that!
