I didn’t know Hell was at the bottom of a green rolling hill.

And at the bottom of the hill, laid the routinees, enraged by their prisoners escape…

I’m surprised that Rat would take that ride.

Once they hit the bottom: “All right, Pig, break out the shovels, we’re gonna be here all night.”

Driving to escape California wildfires can feel like going to hell in a hand basket.

A better panel would have been to have Pastis in the basket and Rat pushing him down the hill because of that reference.

Are they in California or Michigan?

When did they start putting wheels on “hand” baskets?

I thought it was “to hell in a head basket”,of french origins!

“Hell In A Handbasket” is just the name of the town at the bottom of the hill. You know where they have the big parade every year during Christmas. One must get there early to get a good spot to watch the parade from ;-)

Get there early, avoid the rush!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again (mostly because I’m super pleased with how clever I am), so many people freak out as if we’re going to Hell in a handbasket, but to the more level-headed it’s obviously more like Purgatory in a pushcart.

I thought in order to get to Hell, you had to sell your soul to be elected to Congress or at least a state legislature

Well, Hell has a Highway, and Heaven has a stairway. What does that tell you about the odds getting in up there?!
