I had a friend who actually “more or less” had that happen to him, but without the declaration. He found himself involved in all the planning, prep, and stress, did not realize until his first anniversary that he had never actually proposed.
Fifty two years later he says women who take charge are the best of women and all she does is smile.
Now, that’s empowerment. At the risk of being shallow, I hope for his sake that she looks more like Katy Perry than Nancy Pelosi… (let the flames begin)
