A child’s perception of time differs dramatically from that of an adult.

Father should be on the street side of the sidewalk.

There you go, John. Doesn’t that make it much better?

I start on Dec. 26. I have actually bought a present for someone on Dec. 26 for the following Christmas.

So Elizabeth got ‘dressed up’ to go X-mas shopping?

I dislike going to a shop or mall so close to Christmas but if you don’t have to buy a present and parking isn’t a problem, it’s a wonderful delight to see the decorations and lights with all the stores still in their grandeur. When this strip was written, you would not have been able to walk down the crowded sidewalks or find parking at the mall.

If you want to experience Christmas mobs; go to a U.S. Post office branch!

I used to do this with my dad when I was about Elizabeth’s age. Fond memories of buying my mom lots of house slippers and purses!

I’ve never understood the stereotype of men not knowing what to buy their wives for holidays. Or is this really a stereotype?

I know what my wife likes in the way of music , clothing, jewelry, and fun stuff. Occasionally I may strike out on a gift, but only rarely, and I am never stuck for ideas.
